Whoa the Pistons have just 10 FT attempts for the game and the Bucks have 38.

Free throws are 38 to 8. I'm going to go completely nuts when that happens to us next week.
Maybe you shouldn't watch the games. For the entire season, Milwaukee was 15th in FTA per game. Boston was second to last in the league in FTAs.

The thing is, four of the top ten teams in FTA didn't even sniff the playoffs. I am guessing that Ainge/Zarren et al are cognizant of the C's deficiency in drawing fouls given their style of play and are alright with it. High FTAs don't necessarily seem to correlate with winning.

Good god, I was watching the 4th quarter of the Bucks-Pistons game and had to turn it off because of the ridiculous officiating. I'm a neutral and didn't really care who won that game, but the refs made it a joke. Glad I switched to the NHL playoffs, it's way more exciting and fun.

Old friend Jae Crowder is having himself quite a game so far. His hands are just as quick as ever.

Harden waived the white flag in that 4th way too early. Little effort, passive.

It wasn't just him. Utah simply outplayed the entire Rockets team - they got a few offensive rebounds and Spida Mitchell went off. That kid deserves a ton of respect by answering the way he did tonight.

Good for Utah - a lot of teams would have quit down three games at home.

Giannis free throw attempts and travels will cause a meltdown in the game threads next round.
I saw Giannis go to the line one time all night that was not deserved......the second foul in the sequence with Maker when he got all ball. Every other time G went to the line was a legitimate foul.....he creates angles and contact as well if not better than prime LeBron.

Free throws are 38 to 8. I'm going to go completely nuts when that happens to us next week.
This is what the Bucks do and they do it incredibly well.....although not at the numbers they posted tonight due in large part to tremendous matchup advantages vs Detroit. I just posted in the other thread about how their pace and spacing allows Giannis’ elite skill in creating angles to play out.

They were just middle of the pack during the regular season at drawing fouls, and until last night's game they were middle of the pack in the postseason. Celtics committed the 11th fewest fouls in the regular season. In theory this shouldn't be a parade to the FT line.

Regular season games aren’t approached with the same urgency as playoff games where matchups are constantly exploited. We saw many times this year the Bucks facing an opponents run where this sense of urgency would kick in to stop an opponents run and spacing for Giannis to get to the rim was their best recipe. This is what occurred in the Pistons series in spots and especially last night when trailing all night. I wouldn’t expect to see differently in our series.

During the season the Bucks complementary players of Lopez. Illyasova, Mirotic, S.Brown, Hill, and Connaughton combined for 41.8 FGA/g. Last night in a competitive playoff game vs Detroit they took a combined 28 FGA.......and Giannis attacked constantly to get to the line 20x while “only” taking 14+ FTA on 13 occasions during regular season. Every possession is treated with more urgency in a non-blowout playoff game.

Least competitive 1st round since...04?

That year there was only 1 game 7...Heat vs Hornets, but every other series went 4 or 5...3 sweeps and 4 series at 4-1

Stars are shining in Portland. PG13 and Russ have been great but Dame is going supernova

More 82-game players: DeRozan, Aldridge, Gay. The sooner the Spurs dump those scrubs and build around Murray, White and Poeltl, the better.

Meanwhile ... Dame!!!!

McCollum picked up three early fouls, so when he comes back in the second half that should ease the burden.

Westbrook melting down again at the end of the half, bricking like six straight shots and jogging back on D while Lillard and Seth Curry went off. Jrue Holiday's defense last season is looking extremely impressive in retrospect.

Meanwhile, Kanter is abusing Adams on the boards. It's like, Adams forget how to crash the glass all these years letting Russ chase triple doubles.

George with a big three to cut it to 61-60 the buzzer. 20 pts on 10 fga, +8 in his 18 minutes. I almost feel bad for him, but he made his bed.

Not sure what I'm rooting for ... a longer series would be cool, but I also wouldn't mind seeing Russ and his preening go gently into that good night while the PDX crowd showers Dame with love.

Dame with 42 of Portland's 84 points as they take a 9 point lead with 3:38 left in the third quarter.

This series is the best of the first round by a lot (at least thus far - lets hope the Jazz can steal one in Houston). I really could watch these two teams play one another for a long time and never get sick of it.

OKC really took a punch and was on the ropes with Portland un the penalty so early. Think Portland closes this out with Dame eclipsing 50. Buckle up!

23-6 Thunder run. That game went from 84-75 Blazers to 98-90 Thunder in less than six minutes.

OKC to me is really struggling in the half-court this series. I think it comes down to their lack of outside shooting and they are way too reliant on Westbrook making jumpers, which is obviously a huge problem. Adams does a lot of things really well, but he just lacks the specific skill set to really exploit Kanter's defensive deficiencies.

OKC has to come up with something better on the offensive end to close this out. George needs to get the ball more; and Ferguson/Schroder/Grant really need to be involved in something.
