I guess. Just seems excessive for what was likely a reflex. If a 200+ pound dude comes hurtling at you, I don’t see how you don’t kind of push him off you. Who knows whether Lowry landed on his nuts or diaphragm or whatever. Seems more a logistical problem with seats so close to the court, but obviously they can’t change that.

Hopefully, there’s a loose ball near Drake next.
I’ve seen several angles on You Tube and this was definitely more than a reflex. He reached around the lady next to him, placed his hand on Lowry’s head and shoved it forward. He deserves every penalty that he was given.

Yeah, I don’t know what the fuck people are talking about. Dude stepped way out of line, should be facing a lifetime ban.

You know that we occasionally disagree but I consider each of you to be very knowledgable basketball fans. However I think like many of us, your biases are clouding your judgement here or maybe I simply misunderstand your point.

I also don't doubt that it helps to play with elite shooters like Curry, Thompson and Durant (as well as the other very good rotation players the Warriors have had during Green's career). That said, Draymond Green has been the leader amongst "power forwards" in assists per game for the past four years. Prior to this season when Giannis averaged just one APG less than, the delta between him and others classified at his position was in excess of two assists per game. Five years ago, he ranked second overall.

In short, he has been a top assister in his position/role in five of his seven seasons. Its entirely understandable if you dislike Green and his style of play. But he is pretty clearly a demonstrably good passer and I would even refer to him as elite. You may disagree but the data isn't on your side.
I think he’s a good passer, but that his gaudy assist totals are a product of the once-and-a-lifetime offense. I’d argue that Gasol is a better pure passer than him.

I can’t even really see it from the video, though I saw some stills from another angle that show it more clearly. But yeah, can’t have that. I’d be pretty pissed if an opposing teams part-owner did that to a Celtics player. Unless it was Smart. Then I’d just troll his widow’s instagram.

Lowry wasn't anywhere near him, nevermind being on his nuts. He made a conscious decision to reach out and push him. It's a weak push, but something that you simply cannot allow. Being a part owner makes it even worse as he should be setting the example.

Yeah, it wasn't a instinctive reaction to protect himself as the player was crashing into him or anything like that. Lowry didn't touch him. He went out of his way to push Lowry and then got into a shouting match. He's lucky to get only a one year ban. And $500,000 is nothing to this guy.

Don't understand why posters are defending the "fan" that pushed Lowry. The NBA needed to make a stand for player safety. Fans sitting courtside do not have the right to push players for no reason. Had the fan not been a billionaire and part owner of the Warriors, it certainly would have been a lifetime ban.

I don't see a lot of defense for the pusher. He's a jerk and he should be banned for putting his hands on a player in a non-defensive move.

Who are these posters defending Mark Stevens? On Golden State of Mind (about as subjectively pro-Warrior-fan a site as you will find) the condemnation of him was harsh, immediate, and pretty much unanimous. Steve Kerr came out the next day and sincerely apologized to Lowry. Lacob and co. are talking about forcing him to sell his shares. The only person I can recall who even remotely defended Stevens was Jeff Van Gundy right when it happened, but of course Van Gundy is a world-class troll who doesn't really believe 95% of the nonsense that comes out of his piehole.

Here's a good one for Max Kellerman, Rob Porter and the Steph-deniers to ram straight down their stupid pie-holes.

Looney evidently lobbying hard to play tonight as the doctors tell him it won’t get worse, listed as ‘questionable’ (via Ramona Shelburne).

Lol, I try! But idiots like Bayless, Kellerman and Porter do have big platforms and big megaphones. And YMMV, but just anecdotally "Steph is great, the best shooter ever, but he has consistently come up small in the playoffs / finals / when it matters" is a far more pervasive and persistent meme than "Steph has been fucking awesome in the playoffs his whole career — by far the most efficient high-volume scorer in NBA playoff history."

Anyway, I thought the graphic above was cool.

I had only seen what was shown on TV, which didn’t seem like much in real time. Seeing it slower and from different angles I agree the punishment was warranted.

I know the Celtics didn’t even come close, but it’s frustrating seeing how gettable the Warriors are this year.

KD hasn’t even practiced in a competitive setting yet. He’s going to participate in 3-on-3 halfcourt drills to see if he can play in a Finals game the following day......read this again and let it sink in . Even if Durant is physically able to play I would never count on much out of him and he’d be placing himself at risk if he came back without the calf being fully healed.
Okay, Klay looks A LOT better out there than I imagined he would.

Kawhi essentially has taken this whole 3rd quarter off. He needs to demand the ball all 4th. He should have enough gas in the tank

This series is over. Warriors can’t handle these guys. They really do need KD & watch this be what keeps him there long term!

- The Warriors need to stop fouling. Free throw attempts are 19-10 in favor of Toronto.
- Toronto is dominating by making jump shots. They weren't falling in the first quarter but they're falling now.
- When KD is out, the Ws aren't going to win much when Curry is 1/8 from 3.
