After looking at the Kings and Clippers remaining schedules, I’ve upgraded my hope for both picks from no chance in hell to so you’re saying there’s a chance.
If the Clippers beat out the Kings (or Lakers) for the playoffs by one game, that 28-point comeback will look a little different in retrospect. At least for a day, Sacramento is back in the lottery and LAC is back in the playoffs. Let's hope it stays there.
Good point, painful as it was to watch it.If the Clippers beat out the Kings (or Lakers) for the playoffs by one game, that 28-point comeback will look a little different in retrospect.
If it had happened later in the season, you'd almost think they did it on purposeIf the Clippers beat out the Kings (or Lakers) for the playoffs by one game, that 28-point comeback will look a little different in retrospect.
That would be great. I think both the Kings and Lakers have better teams though.
Amick reporting Ballmer does not want to tank to get the pick this year, and the Clips will try to get in the playoffs. That helps us a ton.
It’ll be fine if they’re looking for a role player. If they want s trade asset, not so much. And I’d probably dispute your claim on Yabu, but that’s subjective. The last time something like this happened was the year the Celtics were supposed to be tanking in what looked like a real strong draft but IT helped drag them to a pointless playoff appearance that landed them the 16th pick.
It sucked, but Ainge ended up pulling a better player there than half the guys taken in front of him anyway. It'll be fine.
Down 2. You’re killing me, Smalls. Two for one tonight as they are smoking the Grizz early.
Rozier in 2015, drafted after Okafor, Hezonja, Mudiay, Johnson, Kaminsky, Lyles, and Payne. It’ll be fine if they’re looking for a role player. If they want s trade asset, not so much. And I’d probably dispute your claim on Yabu, but that’s subjective.
It’s disappointing but it was a free pick basically. House money etc etc.
Apologies had wrong year. I still think it’s viewed as a trade asset more than a building block, but your point stands.Rozier in 2015, drafted after Okafor, Hezonja, Mudiay, Johnson, Kaminsky, Lyles, and Payne.
I don't understand what this means. Ballmer wants to make the playoffs.....awesome! Do defenses now have to gameplan against him stretching them out from 3? The Clippers traded a large portion of their key rotation players which is the issue for them the rest of this season short of shutting down Lou, Gallo, and Montrezl.

Monkey Boy is one heck of a cheerleader, maybe he can wake up that lax LA crowd.I don't understand what this means. Ballmer wants to make the playoffs.....awesome! His old Microsoft shareholder meetings were LEGENDARY!!Monkey Boy is one heck of a cheerleader, maybe he can wake up that lax LA crowd.
He was a bit of a kook and the complete polar opposite of Bill Gates. Steve was Microsoft CEO for 14yrs. MSFT flatlined during Ballmer's tenure, as Steve Jobs/AAPL came back and ate their lunch. His old Microsoft shareholder meetings were LEGENDARY!!
I think they have enough talent to still make the playoffs. They have a 3 game lead over the Lakers and only 1 game behind 5th seed Houston, and 3 behind 4th seed Portland. I'm not sure the Kings stay in the race but I'm also not sure the Clippers will be the ones who miss the playoffs if the Kings or Lakers happen to make it. Utah, SA and Houston have more talent but health and luck are going to play a huge factor.I don't understand what this means. Ballmer wants to make the playoffs.....awesome! Posts like this make me sad. Can we just start a Kings splooge fest thread already? We’re losing focus here during a trying season...It has been said over and over, but man that Kings team is a joy to watch (so long as you can set aside your desires for them to fail). Fox and Hield are my favoreite backcourt in the league
A nice little 44-23 second quarter for the Wolves changed this one. Minnesota up 9 with 5 to go. Should come down to the wire.Kings up double digits early at Wolves. This is a playoff team. I’m fully convinced at this point.
Nice work. Wolves with 22 turnovers and shot 25% from 3... but still managed to put up 112 points to beat Sac.Kings up double digits early at Wolves. This is a playoff team. I’m fully convinced at this point.
Luol Deng is +79 in the last five games, assuming I still know how to add.Nice work. Wolves with 22 turnovers and shot 25% from 3... but still managed to put up 112 points to beat Sac.
Just a bump in the road for this future playoff teamNice work. Wolves with 22 turnovers and shot 25% from 3... but still managed to put up 112 points to beat Sac.
Why can't the Lakers get productive veterans like Deng?Luol Deng is +79 in the last five games, assuming I still know how to add.
Or productive young'uns like Zubac, Russell, and Randle? Why can't the Lakers get productive veterans like Deng?
Better hope that the 4/5 series isn't against PHI.Whether the Celtics finish 3rd, 4th, or 5th will have very little impact on the season. They will face a team in the first round they should easily beat, and then have to beat Toronto and Milwaukee on the road on some order.
You mean the team that has only beat Boston twice in the last two years including playoffs?Better hope that the 4/5 series isn't against PHI.
Well it is a completely different team, and even if you do think BOS would win, I would hardly categorize it as someone "they should easily beat".You mean the team that has only beat Boston twice in the last two years including playoffs?
Probably less dangerous without Ilyasova and Bellinelli.Well it is a completely different team, and even if you do think BOS would win, I would hardly categorize it as someone "they should easily beat".
I don't know. They replaced Covington and Saric with Butler and Harris. That is a huge huge upgrade to the starting lineup and more than makes up any downgrade from Ilyasova and Bellinelli to whatever combo of Scott/Simmons/etc they throw out thereProbably less dangerous without Ilyasova and Bellinelli.
The Spurs just completed a brutal road schedule and are now 12-22 away from home. They’ve been pretty lethal at home where they play 8 of their next 10 so I wouldn’t quite count them out yet.The Spurs have lost 7/8 and the Clippers have climbed into the 7 seed. I think we'll end up with something like 10, 15, 23 with a very real chance of the Memphis pick conveying this year. I think the Clippers pick is close to a lock but I'm probably alone in feeling that. I think the Kings are going to fall back a little too. I could see Orlando, Minnesota and the Lakers possibly passing the Kings.
Even if those 3 teams do pass the Kings, they are still the 11th seed. Kinda sucks. Here is to good luck. I think there is a very real chance we could use all the picks to replace the bench that is leaving. I don't think there's going to be a roster crunch.
That's fair, but those 8 home games include OKC, Denver, Milwaukee, Portland, and Golden State. They have Detroit, Miami and NY too, and their 2 road games are against Atlanta and Dallas. Interesting stretch. The Spurs just completed a brutal road schedule and are now 12-22 away from home. I would bet large sums of money on the Memphis pick not conveying this year. I think Sac is making the playoffs still. No chance they fall victim to a late season swoon...The Spurs have lost 7/8 and the Clippers have climbed into the 7 seed. I dunno. What is the percentage of the 6, 7th or 8th worst teams getting a pick that is 9th or worse? They don't have to finish 9th or worse to end up with a pick 9th or worse, do they?I would bet large sums of money on the Memphis pick not conveying this year. The odds of that happening are incredibly low. I could see one team in that 7-9 range getting lucky but not the 2 or 3 that it would take to move Memphis to #9.I dunno. Assuming they stay 6th, anyway. They are neck to neck with the Wizards and Dallas and NO didn't exactly improve over the deadline. I guess a lot of it depends on how often Davis plays and if the Mavs try and tank hard to keep their pick. The odds of that happening are incredibly low. No chance? Sorry based on?I would bet large sums of money on the Memphis pick not conveying this year. I think Sac is making the playoffs still. No chance they fall victim to a late season swoon...
