I've never quite fallen in with the Cult of Zlatan, but he has been such a joy to watch, and he really helped elevate Sweden to a world stage over the last 15 years. Good chance to tip the ol' cap to him and post awesome highlights.

I've always felt Zlatan was a bit overrated. But I've never seen a player - not Messi, not Ronaldo, not anybody - score as many insane highlight reel goals. Unfortunately, I'm probably going to start hating him now as he seems destined to join Manchester United.

Technically the 04-05 and 05-06 Juventus titles was revoked, and the Inter titles aren't as impressive to me because they basically had every player that jumped ship from Juve and Milan. Barca also couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Certainly one of the more unique players of all time. Like Kevin Durant, he combined great physical size with terrific skill and flair that made him a legend. His personality is interesting, as a Swedish fan I loved nearly every minute of the Zlatan experience but his club career was so strange, probably because of his personality. He never stayed in one spot for long which probably hurt his reputation.

I will say this about Zlatan, if he had been born in Minnesota and not Malmö he would have changed soccer forever in the United States. He would have been the perfect marketing tool, his breathtaking skills and highlight reel goals matched only by his quotable personality. He'd make TO look like Wes Welker.

I will dispute that Zlatan made Swedish football. The Sverige team that Zlatan played for as a teenager was much, much better than the team he would star for later in his career. The great tragedy for him on the international level is that he peaked right when a mini-golden age of Swedish players where finishing their careers and instead was saddled with a team of overmatched players. All of the great players of the last decade have been mostly stuck with talented and deep national teams, except Zlatan and probably Shevechnko.

How long can he reasonably keep up his form? He turns 35 this October, but his last few years at PSG have been some of his most productive.

International retirement + signing with ManU = a Viking funeral?

I'm not ready to light my man ZLATAN on fire, yet. His impending partnership with Jose oughta be the greatest combination of oil and water since the dawn of time. Is there any chance they aren't making snippy comments about each other by mid-October? There is a non-zero chance ZLATAN is going to karate kick the Special One in his special pouty face because of something.

No, I will not yet thank ZLATAN. Now, he no longer has to carry around the expectations of all blonde haired, blue eyed Swedes a few times a year - he can just focus on being the biggest prick he can be for his club. He's gonna be a huge prick this fall. It'll be glorious.

Ummmm...what? Zlatan and Jose oil and water? They love each other
Well, now they do.

When they're in 6th place and the media is constantly asking who is to blame, we'll see if that's still true.
