Other than screwing up the hook’em sign at the end, yesThat's really well done.
All in on protecting the program in Arch Manning.Had essentially an entire offensive line commit today. Big men.

I mean of all players for the NIL not to matter one bit about. Wanting to play for an NFL OC makes sense, but Manning is going to the place that he believe will give him the best preparation for NFL success.NIL + Sark
Why? It’s Cooper’s kid, not Eli’s or Peyton’s.I didn't go to UT, but I live in Austin. So I'm always happy to see them do well.
Not anymore.
The near term recruiting bump is going to be insane.Just got a 5 star safety out from under Cajun.
This was always going to be the outcome. Sark made it a competition for show.Ewers named QB1. He'll make a ton of mistakes but I am glad it's not Card.
Tend to agree; but he probably did have a somewhat open mind (tilted to Ewers for upside). This was always going to be the outcome. Sark made it a competition for show.
This game is going to get ugly, quick. And it'll be 184,439 degrees on the turk at DRK to boot.Nice. I thought they might let Card get eaten by Alabama and then go to Ewers.
What FCS school?I'm continuing my day of begging SoSH for logistical help here. My now-middle-aged college friends and I do a trip every few years, and we've settled on Austin for the next one this fall. We would like to go see a UT game while we're there because we all went to an FCS school and have by and large not experienced big-time college football. UT will be playing Kansas, which feels like it would be a less in-demand ticket than some others. So, three questions.
First, am I better off buying tickets now or waiting until closer in? Prices now seem high, but maybe that's just what it costs to get in. Second, is there some specific place/thing we should be going/doing prior to the game for atmosphere? Third...what else should I be thinking about here? I can't emphasize strongly enough little of a fucking idea I have of what I'm doing here. All thoughts welcome!
Penn. So my big footballing memory is throwing toast on the field after the third quarter and watching get hoovered up by a toast zamboni. Which is not without its charms, but not exactly big time. What FCS school?
Planning a river float on Friday on the theory that if it's hot at least the float will be fun, and if it's reasonable the game will be fun.I'd wait for tickets if you are not super-particular about where you sit. If we are any good, the best seats will be wicked expensive but that's probably the case today anyway. Plus DKR is huge so for a Kansas game there are always likely to be seats available close to game day.
As for Austin, on game day I'm with the gang here - stay around downtown and the 40 acres on foot. Traffic does not move around there at that time. And definitely check out Scholz's. Even though it'll be packed, it's as much an Austin tradition as anything in town. Then head out of downtown after the game for BBQ or Mexican. If it were me, I'd go to South First for Mexican somewhere, but there are so many great places in Austin now, if you find a place with good reviews online and it catches your fancy, go for it.
Just avoid Sixth Street completely unless you enjoy ridiculous crowds, overpriced drinks, and drunken violence.
Also, it'll probably be hot as fuck so be ready for that.
Not too many FCS stadiums can say they once hosted a pro football team. Only other ones I can think of are Harvard and Yale, each on a temporary basis. The Sons of Chuck Bednarik !Penn. So my big footballing memory is throwing toast on the field after the third quarter and watching get hoovered up by a toast zamboni. Which is not without its charms, but not exactly big time.
And thanks to all for the thoughts. Scholz is definitely on the list now unless we somehow find a connection to a legit tailgate.
You’ll be openly invited to many tailgates. Not a problem there, but the Texas tailgate scene is a bit difference as it’s spread out without main lots like many schools.Penn. Texas at Vandy - more or less than 80% UT fans there?SEC 2024 opponents announced.

Considering the most interesting home game this year is ... idk, BYU?, it's hard to overstate how much this upgrades the football experience in Austin.
Vandy alum here.Texas at Vandy - more or less than 80% UT fans there?
Ewwww don’t subject yourself to the cult when you don’t have to do soI think it's great that we're playing aggy again. I might even make it to Pyle for that one.
My SO's ex is a huge aggy guy (was in the Corps with Rick Perry) and has done his best to brainwash her daughter into the cult. We might have to go if only to defend ourselves in her eyes!Ewwww don’t subject yourself to the cult when you don’t have to do so
My Vandy alum brother in SA who married into a Longhorn family is absolutely loving this development.Vandy alum here.
80% isn't out of the question. Feels like people will use any excuse to visit Nashville - even watching the 'Dores get fucking destroyed.
We might try to drive down to Nashville - have friends we've not seen in forever. Hope it's later in the year.I'm a season ticket holder and travel to many of the games. Hoping to make Alabama, Houston, Baylor, and TCU this season. I've been to LSU before, but I really can't wait to go to some of these SEC away games.
