Whether it is Rozier not meshing with teammates or teammates not meshing with Rozier he's undeservedly been the scapegoat around here, especially in game threads, by those blaming him for everything that hasn't gone right. He's the poster child for the "Too much talent can be a bad thing" movement in this league......as could this team without playoff success this spring.
I'm not a huge fan of him or Morris but they do take an unfair amount of blame.

It's bizarre to me. Both players are going to end up with the last laugh when they get paid this summer based off their performance in Boston these past two seasons when posters here were at worst brutal and at best underappreciative of what they bring.

Rozier as a reserve has been garbage all season, and Morris has been trash since the halfway point of the season. If they get paid, congrats to them and their new team, but if either of these guys are on Boston next season, it's because the team's best player just walked away.

Yeah. We all value what he did in the postseason last year, but Rozier off the bench (which is his main role for this team) is shooting 37.8% and 33.7% from three, with a TS% of 48.6%, while averaging about 4 assists/36 minutes. His ORtg off bench is 101.

If Kyrie leaves and the Celtics FO has reason to believe his numbers as a starter are more indicative than what he's done in 4x the minutes as a reserve, then I guess we shall see, but the argument that because someone is going to pay him big money means he's played well this year, then you're making the argument that NBA FOs never make a mistake when paying out cash.

And come on HRB, you watch the games---do you think Morris has played well since the calendar changed to 2019?

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that other NBA teams watched some of the Celtics' games this year. I would find it astonishing if someone watched Terry's play this year and said to him or herself "Yeah, I want THAT guy on my team next year!"

Depending on the dollar amount, there are plenty of teams that would like him. He's clearly a rotation player, whether a GM sees him as a starting player is another question.

He clearly belongs in the NBA. I just don't think he's going to get some huge payday this summer.

Terry wants to move on if the Celtics stand pat.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26745986/rozier-to-go-celts-stay-intact

Terry Rozier said Tuesday on ESPN First Take that he wouldn't be interested in returning to the Boston Celtics if the team decides to bring back the same cast next season.

"No, I might have to go. I might have to go. I put up with a lot this year so I said what I said after this season. I think we all know I'm not trying to step into that again," he said.
"Obviously in the shadow of some guys ... the ball was in either Kyrie's or Gordon Hayward's hands most of the time. I feel like Terry Rozier was just in the corner or on the bench," he said.

One thing that is remarkable about this confusing and frustrating year is how openly vocal most of the players were about how miserable it was.

The front court touches seems to support what Terry is saying.

Yeah, that's an unintentionally hilarious tweet - looks like most of those touches are just bringing the ball up. Way to dunk on yourself.

Eh. Kyrie had 40% of his in front court, Rozier had 38%, pretty close for guys ostensibly playing the same position.

How much do you think Rozier and MaMo are getting paid this Summer?

some of the future contract numbers thrown around here, about these two, borders on "overappreciated"

Probably one of those times where it’s good to just bookmark the thread and come back to it in July. I like both guys more than most here, but I’d be surprised if Terry got more than 14/yr or Morris got more than 12. Maybe that’s the range HRB has in mind though.

HRB has Rozier starting next season and getting paid. I doubt he'll predict a deal size, since its a game of musical chairs for PGs. Terry's PR attack on Brad/Celts is a bit of a head scratcher since the Celtics are probably the team then can pay him the most. I think Terry's strategy, like his play this season, is sub-optimal:)

Not surprising that Rozier can’t effectively shoot his way out of town.

From the little I know of him personally (some mutual friends), it’s in character.

Yeah this is roughly the range. I expect both players to sign to be starters and be paid starting money. 4/$50? 4/$60? Somewhere in there sounds about right.

He's gonna sign with the Knicks, he'll have a game against Boston where he scores 35 and pounds his chest in the post game. Then a reporter will point out that they lost and they're 6-21.

So often NBA salaries seem to make no sense whatsoever. Really hard to understand how Rozier will be making significantly more money than Smart next year. It's just amazing to me why someone would pay so much money to a player who really hasn't proven themselves at all yet.

I think he will play his way into that contract on a scrub team. Something like 18/5/5 with just ok shooting numbers.

At least he won’t be pouting anymore about starting. If MJ’s plan is to tank, he’s on the right track with Rozier.

As long as they don't sign anyone for 4 years or more, then for the 21/22 season they have Rozier and Bridges left on the roster.

They're doing a 3 year cleanse.

I for one will miss this fine man (I’m serious I really like Terry as a guy and I didn’t mind watching him in green).

I'm happy to see Terry get his money. He didn't always play well, but he always played hard.
