This kid is the youngest to win a match in every Grand Slam in the same year since Ivanisevic in 1989.

He asked for the trainer after the first set and the crowd booed the crap out of him (no pun intended), I don't think a break is going to save him today.
The 18 year old kid will have nerves, probably more as the match goes on. I think a well timed break would be an effective strategic move. I don't think he gives a shit about the booing.

I got distracted so didn't exactly see what happened, but four straight games from Tsitsipas, up a break now at 4-3.

Tsitsipas comes back from 0-40 to hold and close the second set at 6-4, one set all.

Great match! Alcaraz is very impressive, wonder how far he can go here.

The way he is playing he should make the quarterfinals especially with facing a qualifier in the 4th round. Alcaraz looks like he could be one of the next young top players. At 18 he’s already 55th in the world and this is his first year playing in the main draw of majors too. His major performance so far this year is 2nd round in Australia, 3rd round in Paris, 2nd round at Wimbledon and now 4th round so far at the US Open.

Leylah Fernandez match is something to watch right now. She is a joy to watch out there

Osaka is melting down. She is incredibly fortunate to only have one code of conduct warning, as the ref allowed her to get away with murder at the end of the last set.

Fernandez is up a break at 2-1 in the 3rd, had a chance for the second break. We will see if Leylah can finish

just remarkable, what a remarkably likeable kid. So easy to root for, and she played amazing tennis.

I missed most of the Red Sox game watching the Osaka/Fernandez match. It was incredible. My wife is Filipino so obviously, we were cheering for Leylah. Her first serve was just dominating Osaka and she made the shots where she had to. Osaka gave up and lost her focus. Says in her post-match presser she's going to take a break. Part of winning is being able to handle losing. There are no majors until January anyway. She can afford to take some time off and see if this is really her passion. GREAT tennis today!

I just started watching but Rublev/Tiafoe right now looks pretty great, 1 set all, Tiafoe broke to go up 5-4 but is down two break points.

She has been my favorite female player for awhile. It is painful to watch her right now. Her conditioning is awful, she looks like she hates being out there, and when she speaks it hurts to listen. I don’t think she is long for this sport and that is a major loss for this sport. I miss happy Naomi after a match.

Tiafoe takes the 3rd in a seesaw tiebreaker 8-6 after being down 4-2, glad he pulled out that set in the end and hope he can finish this. If this goes 5, we are looking at 3 AM…

Man, these guys are hitting some serious reflex shots, crazy half volley to put Tiafoe up 3-2 on serve.

2:26 AM is the latest ever finish here, this will definitely go past that if Rublev wins the 4th.

After losing four straight games to end the fourth set, Tiafoe has now won four straight to start the fifth. He's up a double break now.

And he holds on his serve (after a couple of deuces) for 5 - 0, only needs one in the next five to win the match. There's a decent chance this is over before 2:26.

Yeah, ended at 2:15, great final set by Tiafoe. He gets FAA next, that should be a fun one.

Novak won the next three fairly easily but he doesn't seem to have his A game yet.

I am astounded at the chalk on the women’s side. 10 of the 13 in the Round of 16 are within the Top 16 seeds. 1 of the 3 outside the Top 16 is the 17 seed (Sakkari). (1) Barty, (4) Pliskova and (14) Pavyluchenkova still to play today.

Meanwhile on the men’s side three qualifiers ranked outside the Top 100 (Van De Zandschulp [117], Gojowczyk [141] and Otte [144]) are through to the Round of 16.

And then there's Emma Raducanu, the 18-year-old Brit who absolutely thrashed Sara Sorribes-Tormo 6-0, 6-1 (and led 6-0, 5-0). She'll probably play Barty next and get thrashed, but still...lots of people on these shores very excited about her at the moment!

Just an incredible first week of the Open.

Have to love rogers, post match interview.

Pam Shriver "Lookin forward to your next match"

Rogers: "Oh Come on Pam...:"

Pam "Ok, we'll stay on this match"

Just the perfect response by Rogers. She is a sweetheart

Sock won the first set but now his leg is hurt and does not look like he will last long, unfortunately.

Didn't she have a good run at Wimbledon?
