What can you do?

The epic bedshitting is so surreal. I was prepared for Denver to lose (I am a realist when it come to football), but the complete and total meltdown in all phases of the game is going to be a head scratcher for a while.

Hey, at least Lynch was held in check! (Ha ha ha... Sob)

You're handling this better than I handled the Pats' two recent SB losses, for what it's worth.

where the darn libs live
So now that the Broncos lost a Super Bowl after scoring that many points he has to tear his ACL on a hit 8 minutes in the first game of their season and then Brock Osweiller will go 11-5 and not make the playoffs, RIGHT?

If someone can walk into a locker room during the Super Bowl with a press badge that says unknown. The security is damn lucky the guy didn't have a weapon.

This sounds fun, but I'd rather he just retire so that I don't have to see his stupid fucking face anymore.

That's embarrassing.
They have had what 4 years to prepare for this and some people may not get home until 5? Embarrassing indeed

They should put the Seahawks fans on last.  They don't give a shit at this point.

ESPN reported that the transit people brought in 50 buses to help alleviate the congestion.  I'm sure they'll get lost on the turnpike.

Apparently they Told (well made) people stay in the stadium until the congestion died down.

What the game showed me was with a healthy defense...
with Wilfork, Kelly, Mayo, Talib, Dennard, Spikes playing in Denver two weeks ago we would have had a very good chance to be playing in this game.

The Denver game was a one possession game late with six defensive starters hurt or out.
We just didn't have the personnel to play Denver.

I doubt we would have beaten the Seahawks but I bet it would have been a close game.

Just makes me think what could have been for this Pats team and that not even considering a heathy Gronk, Vollmer and free Hernandez.

In his Pats-oriented wrap up, Reiss said that had the Pats made it to the SB they probably would've lost and their only chance would've been had they brought their A-game as they did against Baltimore in week 16. I'm inclined to agree. If nothing else, it's just really hard to get by on smoke and mirrors in the playoffs.

Denver had a bunch of injuries, too. Would the Super Bowl have been closer with Clady, Von Miller, Vickerson, Chris Harris, Derek Wolfe, and Rahim Moore? Meanwhile, Sidney Rice was the only Seahawk of significance on IR (though they also lost Browner to a drug suspension).

NE played AZ, Seattle and SF last year and lost to all three in close games. Those teams were so physical, NE had to take it up a notch to be competitive. Denver never matched that physical play. That NFC West is such a vicious division.

Shouldn't they have taken a page from the Green Line and "added extra trolley cars for your convenience?"

To be fair, the transit officials had no idea the bulk of the crowd would want to leave the stadium site at roughly the same time.

Buck and Aikman were pretty tough to take in the 2nd half.

I get it, you want us to stay tuned because advertisers spent 4 million to air their ads and you want to make sure we're aware that 24's back, but I'm sorry, no matter how much napkin math Aikman does, Denver was not winning that game, be an analyst and explain that to us, tell us what Seattle is doing to dismantle a very good Denver team. While I'm sure there were some 10-year olds rooting for the Broncos that still had hope, anyone that actually watches football regularly could see that it didn't matter, Denver was being dominated in every facet of the game and weren't going to suddenly figure it out.  Yes comebacks happen, but Seattle wasn't employing the 2006 Pats secondary.

They couldnt even get the napkin math right and were inconsistent within that analysis to boot.
There was a moment before a Denver punt in or near Seattle territory where Aikman was saying that you have to go for it every 4th down especially with Manning at QB.  Then Denver brings out the punting team and Aikman says that he thinks it's the right move to punt there.

All 8 people I was watching this with burst out laughing the moment it happened.

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking about, it was literally less than 2 minutes between those statements, he said the punter mine as well go home.  Then they got the math wrong and started talking about how Denver was going to go for "the first of many" two point conversions when they cut the lead from 36 to an even 4 TDs at 28.

Missed it by one point!  Damn you Wes Welker... you had a chance to lessen New England's pain one last time, even if only a tiny amount, and this time you DIDN'T drop the ball.

Yeah, you know, other than the $15B he's worth as a result of co-founding Microsoft.  (I know you were probably kidding).  More interesting to me is the question of, which Microsoft co-founder is having more fun these days?  Up until recently you'd think the answer was a slam-dunk for Bill, but Paul's making a pretty good comeback.  Ending malaria doesn't get you many NFL cheerleaders to play with.

Bah...there's just no way the Pats could have competed. First, give the Broncos credit -- they dominated the Pats with a team that also had a ton of injuries. Second, the Pats just weren't that good this year. A legit playoff team that was too injury riddled to make a serious run. I'm almost happy they didn't make it to the SB as I would not have enjoyed being steamrolled.

Aikman agreeing with the Broncos decision to punt from the Seahawks 40, down by 29, was the icing on the cake. Really Troy?

Not to mention that they didn't tell us it was over even with 7 min left in the fourth. Thats when both teams traded run run pass go-for-it-on-fourth sequences to run the clock out. I think Wilson and Lynch were done by then too.

It was mentioned above but let me echo- how come no one is talking about how Seattle was running up the score by going for it on fourth down late??

That's not the way I remember it. I thought Aikman declared the game over shockingly early (for a big game broadcast) in the 3rd quarter. I do agree that as a result he mentally checked out and provided precious little "analysis" in the 2nd half.

Isn't that because the other option would be to kick a field goal which would also be running up the score? Seattle went for it twice, on the Denver 30 and Denver 26 - easily within Hauschka's range.
