A surprisingly quiet SB week so far so want to see who SoSH thinks will win.

I want the Eagles. I think the Eagles are better than the Chiefs. And most of all I hate the Chiefs.

But am girding myself for disappointment. Chiefs 24-20.

Disclaimer: I have seen much more of the Chiefs than the Eagles.

My perspective is that if the Chiefs are down by 1-7 late in the game, I have like 90%+ confidence (more like fear) that Mahomes will lead them right down the field for a score, provided enough time is left (which for the Chiefs is like 30 seconds).

If the Eagles are in the same situation, I don't have nearly as much confidence.

The Eagles need to be up 2 scores in the mid-4th if they want to win this IMO.

I want the Eagles to win, but they have faced one of the softest schedules of QBs you could face and the few good ones put up some points on that defense. I think Mahomes lights them up.

Eagles 41-33. Tons of offense on both sides; trick plays, some that work, some that don't. Eagles make one big defensive play near the end to seal it.

Which KC corner gets surprisingly benched?

Eagles win 35 to 17. I know the Eagles haven't played the best teams but their lines are excellent. And Philly is going to run the shit out of the ball.

Definitely want the Eagles, and I think they're a more complete team, but Mahomes is the best football player in the world, probably even on 1.5 feet, and I can't seem him losing this game. Perhaps irrational after the end of their last two seasons, but Chiefs by 8+ feels inevitable to me.

Agreed but I have it closer like 35-31.
Reid is going to throw everything he has at them for sure but in the end I think the Eagles have the better roster and ultimately with their good coaching staff as well the better team wins. I believe the Eagles edge rushers will pressure Mahomes enough to be the difference maker. I don’t think KC has the ability to shut down their vertical passing attack and Hurts’s shoulder should be ok by then.

I'll go 21-17 Eagles, with Mahomes having a chance at the end that falls short. I think we'll know early whether nerves are a factor for Hurts and the other Eagles guys in the SB for the first time.

I'm a little surprised to see such a strong lean in the poll toward PHI.
KC is a scary team to face in a one-game winner-take-all situation.

Chiefs win "close". Phil gets a garbage time TD to make it seem closer than it was. 27-21

I'm mostly here (though I put them down as a two-score win not a three-score win). Eagles are better in the trenches on both sides of the ball and I don't trust the KC pass D. Mahomes is great, but high ankle sprains don't heal that quickly.

Mike Ehrmentraut - 34
Kim Wexler - 30

I put 10 bucks on 150-1 odds that both Kelce brothers score.

How exactly is a center going to score? I don't think that's happened since Jeff Saturday.
Falls on a fumble during the rugby formation at the goal line?

They don't rely on trickery much at the goal line because they don't have to. Thought it would be fun to give it a shot, though.

After looking at the SIS and football outsiders pieces, and listening to the athletic pod I’m changing my vote to Chiefs by a close game. I’m worried about the Chiefs defense confusing Hurts and their run defense working enough to limit the Eagles effectiveness. I think it comes down to can the Eagles run against the Chiefs and I’m not sure they can. And if the Eagles have to play from behind can they? I think the Chiefs are going to play a lot of zone and zone blitzes vs Hurts and he struggles vs that. I think the problem with Hurts is that his outside accuracy has been really shoddy the last two games and that’s where he is going to need to be at his best vs the Chiefs.
The more this game simmers on me I think it’s going to be defense heavy on both sides. I want the Eagles to win but I have a bad feeling that the offense will come up short vs the Chiefs. Something like 27-20 Chiefs.
If Hurts is back to his regular season form and he doesn’t turn the ball over when he sees a lot zone and zone blitzes then game on.
Andy Reid with two weeks and a game plan, the best quarterback, and Travis Kelce. I think that with their defense will be enough. I really hope I’m wrong.

this is where I shook out but with 1/10000th the analysis.

I just sorta liked the chiefs and the under.

I think KC finds a way to make the Philly defense less effective. What we've seen from this Kansas City team reminds me a bit of the Patriot years where Brady seemed to have 10-12 guys that he could throw the ball to. Obviously Mahomes' high ankle sprain could be of a wildcard here, but if the OL can buy him just a bit of time I'm seeing KC winning late in the game and scoring over 30 points.

I know I picked 28-27 PHI over KC in the postseason prediction contest before any prior postseason games.

But my model has changed with more data, games, and injury data to build off of and incorporate. As well as it should. Its new average is 27-24, KC. So that's my guess for this thread. But my god does my heart want Philly to win. Emotions never play a role in my predictions, save for my unshakable feeling that my model will never be good enough on its own, and always needs improvement.

I want a bigger cut.
