ESPN plans to announce it will move up the starting time of the nationally televised game by one hour, with the first pitch planned for shortly after 7 p.m. EDT.

The network intends to make the announcement on Monday at the winter meetings, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday because the announcement had not yet been made.
Big fan of this. Now if only we could get postseason and World Series games on the same schedule.

So am I.

I remember seeing a Sox/Yankees game on Sunday night that went until 1:00 am. It was an extra inning affair so me and my cousin left an inning before Jason Giambi knocked one into the bleachers. The next day sucked.

Long time coming. I get that it's a national broadcast so they're looking for the sweet spot like they do with the post-season, but it's also Sunday night. It's not a work day where the west coast might miss out on the early part of the game because they're in traffic. It's also rarely a match-up with significant meaning that absolutely must be viewed by everyone, so it might as well be played at a time more in line with a typical east coast night game.
