This has been an incredibly well officiated game. Why can't the NBA hire guys like this?

Aquino must be incredibly frustrated seeing McAdoo make a couple clutch FT's

I think I made about 4-5 brackets before the tournament and looked at them all thinking I really have no clue about this year....I never imagined the games would be so good though.  This day may be the best one I can recall in the tournament in a long time with so many great games.

They had 1.5 seconds to begin with, why would you think you would have enough time to get the TO and then another play in

the time should have run out before they even crossed half court if they started it right

The clock didn't start until he dribbled about four times before calling timeout.  This game should be over.

you think a guy can get across half court and call timeout when he wasn't even sprinting in .8 seconds?

They can't hold the frozen clock against him, can they?
I would think not, because couldn't UNC argue that they wouldn't have called timeout if they saw the clock running out?

So if the UNC player had taken and made the shot rather than calling the timeout at that same exact point in time, they would have overturned it and called the game over instead?  Because the clock operator screwed up?

You can see the player looking at the clock. This is bullshit.
if he was looking at the clock he should have known hey had 1.6 seconds and you can't do all that in 1.6 seconds

He was scrambling, caught the ball in bounds, and looked up then and saw there was time to call the timeout. You can't expect a player to look at the clock the entire game, but every time a player does look up, it should be right.

I feel like you can;t end a game on a clock malfunction or operator screw up.  And I hate UNC.  I'm not certain of the rule, obviously, but if they got it right, it seems wrong.

Why didn't Roy call timeout immediately after the Cyclones scored?  Isn't that why he saves his timeouts for?
Doesn't advance the ball, taking the shot around half court is what he absolutely should have done

He did - he was screaming at the ref well before his player with the ball got anywhere near him on the sideline.

Sweet, sweet justice as ISU wins. I was screaming at the TV about the fucking clock not starting on time after the basket. The announcers have an army of producers and spotters at their disposal, yet it took a fucking eternity for them to even mention that possibility and start showing the replays.

Congrats to the Cyclones, just made too many errors down the stretch and Kane was awesome.  Long made some huge threes for them when we had them on the ropes.

Was a fun game, wish we would have won.

he looked up, saw the clock at 1.6, then took another 2 dribbles covering like 20 feet and called timeout, you can't do that in 1.6 seconds

Apparently this is the 1st time since 1979 a Tobacco Road school hasn't made the Sweet 16

Iowa State was the better team and earned this win 100 percent. I admire the team coming together after such shitty news 48 hours earlier.

Perhaps no program has had more 'lucky' breaks from the refs through the years than UNC. We were gifted a Villanova win in the second round during one of our championships. A few years ago NC State beat us in the ACC tournament and we were gifted that game by a terrible call.

I really feel like there should have been time left on the clock. The replay shows Coach Williams calling timeout with 1.4. Take away the .4 for the clock not starting and my math gets me to 1. That said, I only have what CBS shows me and the officials were really very good all game long.

Does the timeout have to come from the player on the floor or can a coach call a timeout while the ball is in play? If so, that was poor officiating. Williams called the timeout right in front of the referee with sideline responsibility.

Refs are taught to glance quickly at the benches in those situations. They did not at the end of this one.

Crazy that the same ref, Bo Borowski, was doing the last game I can remember that ended this way.
