Kevin Volland (23), 132 Bundesliga games, 33 goals, 6 matches for Team Germany, goes from Hoffenheim to Leverkusen.
He had a contract until 2019 in Hoffenheim, Bayer Leverkusen bought him for about 20mil.€ (not published) and he signed a 5year contract until 2021.
Last year, he played in 33 Bundesliga games with 8 goals and 10 assists. Can play in any attacking position you want him in offensive midfield or as a striker.

After Mainz 05 captain Julian Baumgartlinger (28), a national player for Austria, that´s a second incoming transfer for Bayer Leverkusen. He had a contract until 2019 in Mainz with a release clause for 4mil.€ and signed a new contract until 2020 at Leverkusen. [He is definitely more squad depth in DM than a starting prospect.]

Wow, that is huge money. The ~€20m range of transfer prices has become semi-normalized among many English clubs, but for a non-Bayern German club? Is that Leverkusen's transfer record?

It is a transfer record for Leverkusen. Their top5 incoming transfers all came in the last 2 years and each are on their roster performing regularly (Volland joining, obv.). They get big money (in their relative terms) through their performances in CL each season.

Edit: kicker.de is reporting Granit Xhaka is in London for a medical (with Arsenal). They speculate the transfer sum will be 45mil.€+bonus money for performances.

I heard on a broadcast (don't remember which game) that Mahrez was getting interest from Barca. I don't think that makes sense and I think he ends up staying in the EPL, but not likely at LCFC.

What do you think about Gaitan?
Love him.

Tom Kundert did a nice write up that I mostly agree with it: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/meet-portugals-most-exciting-midfielder-who-angel-di-maria-wants-man-united#:ujoN5CQI_1WnVA

I disagree with him on Gaitan tracking back. I always thought he was a good two way winger. He played with LBs who were told to push up and Gaitan would cover and track back as needed. Ten years ago, he'd have been a pure 10. Now he's a winger who does what Barca was unable to get Riquelme to do. For me, his weakness is that he's a throw back as a winger. A skinny guy with minimal physical presence in offensive zone. Even James is more physical. He is also not a big goal scorer. He can dribble with both feet, but his shots are pretty meh even with his favored foot. He's pacy and has great vision. Can thred a needle with his passes. Also, his tactical awareness is excellent.

Benfica-Atletico business may not be done. Rumors of a deal that involves sending Carillo to Atletico and Benfica getting Diego
Jota on loan.

Frank de Boer has left Ajax. Looks like the premier league is his next destination. Everton is rumored. Any teams spring out for him?

I hear Spurs want to unload Mason, Son, and Bentaleb.
Mason and Bentaleb make sense, but where are you hearing Son though? He was decent this year despite having no preseason training, an injury, and the English cultural adjustment, and he had a fairly big fee that would be hard to recoup. He also gives Spurs quality depth along the forward line even if Alli has probably taken his natural position. And he's only 23. I'd be surprised to see him sold.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/05/20/tottenham-ready-to-sell-son-heung-min-less-than-a-year-after-sig/

Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to sell Son Heung-Min less than a year after the South Korean joined Tottenham Hotspur. Son could become the highest-profile casualty ofTottenham’s end-of-season collapse if the White Hart Lane club can recoup the £22million they paid Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
But the 23-year-old was dragged off at half-time in Tottenham’s 5-1 defeat to Newcastle United for a performance that left some of his team-mates enraged and may have sealed his fate under Pochettino.

-kicker and sport1.de are both reporting Götze just split up with his personal management and has no idea if he will stay at Bayern, go to Liverpool or go back to Dortmund
-both are reporting that Loris Karius is now in Liverpool for a medical
-Ilkay Gündogan is reportedly going to ManCity (despite his newest injury keeping him out of action until Oct.). Newest reports say it will be for 25-26mil.€+additional bonus payments for performances. Dortmund said he has to sign a long-term contract or leave this summer, but not sign another one-year contract like he did before when he was out with injury before the (transfer)summer break.
-Henrikh Mikhitaryan´s agent wants Dortmund to either give his player a new long-term contract with a release clause (which Dortmund refuses) or sell the player to Chelsea for a reported 50mil.€, with one year remaining now on Mikhitaryan´s contract.

(-->That would make 60mil.€ in incoming transfers for Dortmund through Hummels/35 and Gündogan/25 with just about 10-15mil.€ spent on Frenchman Dembelé and Chelsea bid remaining for Mikhitaryan. Expect a busy summer for Dortmund!)

Many thanks, Vinho. Atletico has been after Gaitan for a year or two now, so the assumption is that Simeone has really wanted him. Your comment that "Gaitan's tactical awareness is excellent" makes him the sort of player that Simeone wants: a player who knows his role on the team and is smart on the pitch.

-kicker is now reporting that (after Mario Götze´s speech that he will stay at Bayern,) Kalle Rummenigge said Götze knows Bayern´s and Ancelotti´s opinion about him....which should mean, he should find a club to buy him, if he doesn´t want to sit on the bench for a season.
-Every German news station reporting that newly promoted RB Leipzig will be investing 20mil.€ of Red Bull money into Basel´s top talent Breel Embolo. Not a done deal, but they are now close to a signing, it seems. (Red Bull are spending lots of money in Leipzig. They are just buying players younger than 25, which seems like a decent concept..but everyone in Germany hates them, as they are bought from an external sponsor and aren´t a traditional club.)

What happened? They paid his release clause 3 years ago and I have to admit that I forgot about him this season.

I think it means they don´t want him anymore, because they don´t want to pay his wage (10+mil.€) and he only has one year remaining, meaning Bayern is interested in a club (like Liverpool/Dortmund) paying 20mil.€ for him, instead of him being just a part-time player like he essentially was in his Bayern-time.
Him saying "I wanna stay here" probably scared off some interest, so Bayern was forced to say something. A decent Euro showing will again bring some interested clubs to the table. And Jogi is interested in Götze playing (more) regularly (than possibly at Bayern). I still don´t know what would suit him the best, but his best days in Dortmund are gone so long. Maybe a step down would help him the most, with regular matches on weekends. But that would mean a huge wage-cut. Basically a club like Wolfsburg, but who underperformed last year and isn´t in Europe this upcoming season, but they are reducing their money through the Volkswagen crisis. Maybe Liverpool :)

I've heard much bigger $/€ numbers for Embolo. He's an extremely desirable talent. I'd be surprised if not nearly double that figure...

-There were reports that Lewandowski´s agent is in Madrid for a transfer to Real. Bayern would never let him go (contract until 2019), no matter the transfer sum, as they have a proven goalscorer. That´s a weak way to get leverage for a new contract. Others (Müller, Boateng, Alaba, Neuer) have signed big contracts until 2021 and i can see Lewandowski wanting a similar one. But first-team strikers don´t get old at Bayern (he´ll be 30 in 2019) and he probably wants way more money (now at about 9mil.€). There´s no way they are adding two 30+aged years while basically doubling the money (from 3x9 to 5x12).

-Ricardo Rodriguez (23, Wolfsburg) has a release clause in his contract for 25mil.€ (about 19mil.P) and is rumored to join Arsenal. You may get a new LB!!

-Hannover´s Ron Robert Zieler (GK, 27, 185 Bundesliga games, 6 games for Germany) has a release clause for 3.5mil € due to Hannovers relegation. He is said to join Leicester.

-There´s many rumors about Danish CB giant Jannik Vestergaard (23, Werder Bremen) joining Gladbach. He wants to join them, Gladbach want to have him and after the season, Werder Bremen´s manager Thomas Eichin was set to let him go for decent money. The problem today: Eichin was fired last week and new Bremen manager Frank Baumann (former player) said: "I know he said he wants to leave us for Mönchengladbach, but I´ll fight for Jannik to stay with us!"

-Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang told his national coach, he should leave him out of two friendlies, as he will be transfering clubs in the meantime. Dortmund manager Watzke reacted to BILD reporters like "Bullshit!" when asked about this. He has a contract until 2020 and Dortmund said they won´t leave him for less than 100mil.€, which seems too much. If there´s a huge bid from a club like City or ManUnited for 90mil.€ (about 70mil.P), they probably let him go. The biggest problem is, they are letting everyone go, it seems (Hummels gone, Mikhitaryan making trouble with only 1 year remaining, Gündogan as good as gone/no contract signed AFAIK), this really is a troubling development if this keeps going on.

Reports that West Ham have bought Roberto Pereyra from Juventus.
Also rumored to be close to a deal for Gokhan Tore from Besiktas.
Added to Payet, Lanzini, Antonio that's a really good deep group of wingers. Especially with the CM depth meaning Kouyate can play wing as well.

That's publicly subsidized West Ham flashing cash while playing in a free stadium.

Now now, it's not free. We pay rent.
Not our fault Tottenham complained when we tried to buy it so we had to get an even better deal and rent.
I know Spurs wanted it, too. As did another club, iirc. No snark (I don't know the details), how did it end in Hammer hands? Just best offer?

kind of complicated but the TLDR is here:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jul/18/west-ham-london-olympic-stadium-timeline

Basically Tottenham wanted to tear it down and build a new one, dropped out early when it was clear that wasn't happening, West Ham/Newham Council wanted to buy, there were various issues with other clubs (Tottenham/Leyton Orient) as well as athletics/rugby. So it went to lease, West Ham won over Tottenham. Then there was a complaint that the loans from Newham violated a EuroSport provision, there were lawsuits, yadda yadda yadda.
New Bids, Tottenham had dropped out, West Ham won, 99 year lease, OS available for other uses on non-West Ham days.

California. Duh.
It also helped that the Olympic Stadium and the Boleyn Ground are both in East London (about 3 miles apart), so it feels like less of a move to a new area than Spurs moving from North London would have (even though White Hart Lane is only about 7 miles away).

Any time you can pay full fee for players who had season ending injuries you have to do it.

Kidding aside they are obviously two highly regarded players and I'm excited about Gundogan especially

Dortmund has bought Sebastian Rode(25) from Bayerns bench for 14mil.€. He is a good guy and will play lots of minutes for Dortmund, i think.
kicker.de is reporting they are thinking about selling Mikhitaryan and their interest to keep him has gone down. Before the summer, Dortmund boss Watzke said loud that there´s no way they sell each of Hummels, Gündogan, Mikhitaryan (each of those with only one year on their contracts). Now with Mikhitaryan not interested in signing a new contract unless there´s some weird contract clauses (for example, if coach Thomas Tuchel leaves the club, Mikhitaryan wants to leave for little money; but Dortmund doesn´t want any more release clauses in any contracts - never), it seems they either keep him for another season and then face a leave-for-nothing scenario or sell him now and let their Big-3 guys leave this summer, which would hurt their team stability and the standing of their club in opinion of their fans and other big players like Marco Reus and Aubameyang.
What can you do? Sell him for 30mil.€ and spend 50+mil.€ for new players, instantly!!

Looks like Eric Bailly will become Mourinhos first signing as Uniteds manager. I have never watched him play but he's 22 and looks like a physical freak. Any la liga watchers have an opinion?

No, sorry, but I wanted to add that this piece of business shows why Villarreal is one of the best teams out there. They bought Bailly for about 4M euros, and will now sell him for over 30M euros. A great transaction, and they'll definitely retool with young talent.

On the coaching side, it seems that Unai Emergy, the current manager at Sevilla, is headed to PSG.

Atletico, apparently at the request of Simeone, is on the hunt for a top striker. At the moment, Atleti has apparent interest in Diego Costa, Cavani, Higuain, Bacca, and Kevin Gameiro.

Jannik Vestergaard from Bremen to Gladbach is finally a done deal for 14mil. €. After buying back Christoph Kramer from Leverkusen for 15mil.€ (he was on loan to Gladbach, then Leverkusen got him back and he pretty much disappointed to the point that he isn´t with Germany at the Euro this summer after winning the WC 2014) that´s a second big transfer for Gladbach, who of course got huge money from selling Xhaka to Arsenal for about 40-45mil.€.

Raphael Guerreiro joins Dortmund from Lorient for 12mil.€ (possibly 14mil. if several options are met) and signs a contract until 2020.

Aymeric Laporte signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao, reportedly after turning down an offer from City.

I would expect City to go that much harder after John Stones now.

Juventus finalized the signing of Miralem Pjanic from Roma. Great player who should soften the blow considerably if/when Pogba leaves.

I'm a big Emery guy and I think he will do very well at PSG (who wouldn't?). Of the strikers you listed, Cavani would be at the bottom for me. Costa and Higuain 1/2 (depending on the goal of the signing) and Bacca/Gameiro well before Cavs.

Atletico have signed Sime Vrsaljko, a 24-year-old Croatian RB, from Sassulo for 16M euros. It seems that Atletico is hoping that Vrsaljko will eventually be the replacement for Juanfran, the talented but aging RB.

Also, Antoine Griezmann has signed a new deal with Atletico, keeping him at the club until 2021. I'm glad Griezmann will be hanging around for one more season, and I'm glad Atletico have put themselves into this position if/when he wants to leave.

Kicker is reporting that Dortmund would be willing to talk about Mickey Tarian if United were willing to ante up 40M euros (around 31M pounds).

He only has one year left on his contract but Dortmund are notoriously difficult to deal with, letting Lewandowski and Gotze go for nothing. The fee seems high for someone with one year left who's 27 but he had a pretty stellar season with Dortmund. 23 goals and 32 assists in 51 games last year. For reference the season before De Bruyne moved to City he scored 16 and assisted 27 for Wolfsburg. I'm not saying he'll be as good as KDB but his season kind of flew under the radar.
