Stupid Things I Can't Figure Out

That's the thing I miss most.
Edit to add: when I return to a thread the next day, it never takes me to the last read post, the way it used to do. I have searched the settings options in vain for a fix.

Why do some images or attachments or whatever show up either as totally blank or as some weird icon that looks like "[IM"? This happens to me on Firefox and Chrome. Is there a setting I need to change?
When someone on my "ignored user" list starts a thread, the whole thread disappears from my visibility (rather than just the initial post, as was the case on the old board).
Is there a way to adjust the ignore list settings to ignore just posts instead of threads? Or do I have to take the stupid by the horns and stop using the ignore list?

It seems you have to go into a specific forum to click on the little blue button to go to the last read post. You can't do it from outside the forum.
What I always do is link to the "Recent Posts" list as my starting place.
Any time you click into a link to an unread thread-e.g. from the list of threads in the forum view, or the Recent Posts or New Posts lists)--it should take you to the first unread post in the thread. You don't have to click on the blue button, just clicking the thread title should do the right thing from all thread lists as far as I know. These links are coincidentally all over toward the left side of the screen.
Lists of forums are different. They don't have a link to the threads. They do have a link to the latest post, labelled "Latest", over to the right.

That's the way it works on the current XenForo board. It used to work differently on the old IPB board.
Instead of having a link to the last post in a thread, the main page would link to the latest unread post in that thread. For example, this cache of the main page from 2014 shows that the Drew 2.0 thread was the last one bumped, but the link went to the getnewpost view of that thread (equivalent to XenForo's /unread).
So do all the other bbcode ways of resizing images, as far as I can find ([img=100x50],Is it possible to resize images? It looks as ifshould do it, but it just breaks the code.
You don't have to click the blue button, clicking the threat title is enough (at least that's the way it works for me, not sure if this is a setting).

Sure and I figured out that bit, but there also used to be a whole section anent 5 Songs and another anent 5 Films, and so on, sort of getting-to-know-you, take-a-week-t-share-your-likes fora within the artsy bits of P&G&c. I reckon they've all been sunk in the intermire, our own wee Gmork's militia after the Nothing descended; am I simply looking in the wrong places? There were loads of lovely threads in there about music and film and all that. Have that lot simply vanished into the aether, or is it more that I'm too idiotic to find the posts?
When SoSH moved to the current server in November, a lot of the archived threads didn't make the transfer, so those long-lost discussions are either still in backups or "vanished into the aether." I'll leave it to Sumner or Nip to give you a better evaluation of those threads' status.
I want to delete a bunch of PMs. But I can't seem to figure out how! Is "delete" and "leave conversation" the same thing?
Leave Conversation is usually what you want. It'll delete it from your inbox, but if the other person responds to that conversation then the whole conversation will be restored so you can see the context.
how do I pay my unpaid subscription? the Paypal interface is as confusing as heck, and I want to pay. My credit card/bank account stuff got all messed up, and I am still a "member" but haven't paid my $20 yearly due. I get a lot of value, so I want to get this caught up ASAP.
My subscription is scheduled to expire in 2 hours it is not linked with PayPal, Ive not received a bill, will it auto-renew? Help..

I'm still having trouble marking a specific forum read. Is there an easy way to do this?

When I click in the search box in the upper right, the search form shows up behind the black header/menu bar. Is that just me? In Chrome here.
Using the app on my iPhone, I do not have the Views and News Game Thread (Big Events is there, however). I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app, to no avail. Anything I can do?

I'm trying to post pics from my Google photos. I tried pasting the link but that didn't work. I copy/pasted the pic and it shows up for me but not for others. How do I correctly post these pics?
I can't figure out how to change my signature -- make any change at all (including shortening it, and my sig is short to begin with) and it tells me my signature is too long and won't allow any changes.

Copy the link you want to use. Type the words you want to be the linked text. Highlight those words and click the link button. Paste in the link in the pop up window.

Had some recent fraudulent activity on my CC so I'm updating all my recurring payments for various subscriptions and shit. Cant seem to find how I can change my SoSH billing for my account.

Click on your screen name located in the upper right hand corner, a drop down screen will appear, click on alert preferences and another drop down screen will appear on the left. If you click on account upgrades it should give you the status of your account. Mine automatically renews the day it is scheduled to expire as I began using my CC because the site was having issues with Paypal. Hope this helps.

I have this problem too. I can’t upload any images or gifs. I get the server error thing too. On mobile.
I just tried using a pic I took today & it still won't update my avatar but at least I'm not getting the server error! Tried with both Win & and 10, Vivaldi browser & IE.
Hello anyone. Used the site for a long time on my iPhone with safari and just this week the site design changed over and I can no longer read tweets in threads. I was just able to read them as of last week, using the draft thread for example. Now it just shows the user who posted and nothing else for that post.
I tried downloading the app to see if that would help and it’s the same problem. I know I’ve seen others say they experience this issue but have not seen the solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need help since I can't figure out how to change my avatar. I lost of avatar pix when the big change occurred. Yesterday I went to "my profile" and uploaded a new pix. It worked perfectly. Today I wanted to change the pix, but it refuses to do so and it keeps the old pix.

I keep getting redirected to a reward site that says Walmart, it only happens on SOSH. Is this a site specific problem or do I have a virus?
This same thing is happening to me but not on sosh, but on a Tottenham Hotspur message board I also frequent which seems to be on a very similar infrastructure tot sosh. Possibly an issue across that infrastructure.
