In the early 2000's I used to film the high school football games for the town next to Bristol. Stuart used to show up for the Friday night games. His kids weren't in the high school. He said he was there just because he liked high school football. He'd walk along the sidelines with me while I filmed, talk to the kids, cheer them on, get them pumped up. There were only about 4 or 5 African American kids on the team, and at the time they were all Freshman, very shy, and rode the bench. It was neat seeing Stuart bond with those kids especially. They really looked up to him. At first they called him sir and were totally awestruck. After a couple games it was "Stuart", and by the end of the season they were like a little posse, joking around, having fun. Stuart was always dressed to the nines. Very professional, kind, courteous, and generous. Remembered my name a week later. Just a class act all the way around.
