Great piece by Jackie Mac on KG becoming Towns' personal mentor, and all the crazy personality traits he has that must make that hard for KAT to go through.
Makes you appreciate the job Doc did for those teams not to implode with all the personalities and egos on that squad along with the old/young segregation that was taking place at the time.

Agreed on both the quality of that Jackie Mac piece as well as HRB's comment on Doc. In lesser hands, that Cs team implodes fairly quickly. It also suggests that Doc may be dealing with even bigger issues in that Clippers locker room.

I feel Doc thrives on this as he is the one responsible for acquiring Josh Smith, Lance Stephenson, adding his son to the mix, etc. The difference may be that Blake and Chris Paul are not Garnett and Pierce from a leadership perspective (and Pierce takes more of a back seat on this team both on the floor and in the locker room).

Not sure if this is in line but I'll pass it along anyway,
"Behind the bench" - a comedian/pelicans fan perspective from behind the clippers bench last week

I always respect game reports as you can see and absorb so much more from good seats behind the bench than you ever can on television but I question his comments regarding Austin Rivers.

Last spring when Austin was having several breakout games the Clippers bench (their starters as Rivers was out there with the second unit) were on their feet, cheering, waving towels and smiling ear to ear while clearly being genuinely happy for the kid. When a TO was called you'd see Paul, DeAndre and Blake storm the floor and maul the kid with smiles. Not buying that these guys don't like him at all.
