The Nets are a mess. They need to tear it all apart and rebuild.

Ime who knows, imagine adding more fire to the circus?

Snyder can wait patiently for the optimal job to show up. I doubt he is looking at the Brooklyn job as that position.

I can only imagine Nash is relieved. I mean maybe it's disappointing on some level, but imagine trying to coach that team... nightmare demon Kyuzu fuel

Maybe Kyrie saw this picture of Nash holding a Torah and decided enough was enough:

Wow. Surprised by Nash’s firing a bit. I would’ve figured the Nets would’ve made a trade of some sorts in an attempt to fix things before firing him.
When's the last (first?) time a star player got traded before the coach was fired when the team was in a freefall?

Mods feel free to break out new thread, wasn't sure where to post the Nash news

Ime under consideration per Woj
Josh Primo would also help the Nets. Just sayin'.

LOFL, so much for Mr. Tsai being an ethical guy
I would not put too much stock in this for a few reasons.

Reports are about who "is under consideration" for coaching gigs are notorious as a way of currying favor. Any such "report" should be taken with a giant grain of salt. To which we add:

Woj's reporting around Ime has already been called into question; and

Would seem on the face to be a horrible business/basketball decision to bring him. The distraction would be immense, since both the Nets and Ime would be constantly faced with questions about what exactly transpired during his tenure in Boston to lead to the suspension. Though maybe Tsai is playing 3D chess and figures a distraction from the distraction of Kyrie is what the team needs.

Was coming to say the same thing, only not as well. Schefter Woj (sorry, wrong lickspittle) has been beating the "Ime didn't do really do anything, and if he did it wasn't that bad, and he's totally eligible to get a job again" drum so hard that I wonder if it's more of a signal to other agents that these are the lengths he would go to to hold up his end of the bargain.

Then again... according to Shams, there are active discussions.

Optics are probably the reason they just want him gone, but I’d tell the Nets to fuck off unless that 2028 picks comes back or something. Fuck Ime.

Here
Woj says he’s likely hired within next day or two. He got the ultimate punishment, Kyrie and Ben Simmons.

Why isn’t Wyc/Brad Asking
For a draft pick in compensation?

DayRon Sharpe maybe with Rob out?
Markieff? TJ Warren?
Claxton is probably too much though

If you’re the Celtics you’re going to let him leave for nothing? Or am I just assuming that because there hasn’t been discussion from those in the know about compensation.

I don’t understand why Ime wasn’t just fired if they are letting him go for free…

Is it a case of wanting to control where he goes? Legal ramifications if they fire him?

Not paying him 3 years of salary which is around $9M

I have a feeling that the Celtics aren't in a position to negotiate compensation.
Why not? They never fired him so he's still under contract. Granted they dont have a lot of leverage, but they should get something for releasing him.

breaking out...
Thank you.

The compensation thing is odd -- the reports on Twitter suggest that the Celtics are not going to demand compensation. Maybe they're just happy to get this legal mess off their hands.
