We have a kit thread, so by rights stadium pornographers should have their day in the sun as well.  Post awesome, weird, interesting, cool stadium things here.  I'll kick things off with a few contributions:

Taken from the Champions League thread, here's Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar.  The Gibraltar national team plays here, as well as all the clubs in the Gilbraltar Premier Division.

Estadio Municipal de Braga is the home of S.C. Braga of Portugal.  Of late, Braga have emerged as the fourth wheel to Portugal's Big Three and have had some modest success in Europe.  Their stadium, which was built for Euro 2004, was carved from a quarry and backs up to a huge stone cliff:

Going down the ranks a bit, we get to Claggan Park, home of Fort William F.C.  A very simple ground as you might expect from a club in the Highland League (in Scotland's "non-league" 5th tier), but what a nice backdrop.  And that's a good thing, Fort William have finished in the bottom three of the Highland League every season since 1994-95.  The Highland League has produced some semi-notable Scottish clubs.  In the mid-90s, the Scottish League expanded and accepted two clubs from this league: Ross County and a joint bid from Caledonian FC and Inverness Thistle, who merged.  A couple decades later, both are in the Scottish Premiership.

I've always been a fan of Stadio Luigi Ferraris, home of both Genoa and Sampdoria.  Nothing crazy, no insane backdrop - just quality.  I love steep stands.

Mmabatho Stadium in South Africa.  This one is just a WTF.

La Bombonera is a well-known classic, of course.  If you like steep stands, you'll love this one.

This is a multipurpose high school football and soccer stadium, that is also used on the weekend for adult amateur leagues. It probably stretches the boundaries of what you are looking for, but it is too awesome not to share. Stadium Bowl in Tacoma overlooks Commencement Bay and sits at the base of Stadium High School (where they filmed "10 things I hate about you"):

Is it sad that when I saw that I thought..... "Hey that looks like the set of that Heath Ledger Taming of the Shrew in the 90's movie?

A Genoa vs. Sampdoria derby is one of my "bucket list" matches. Seems to have an amazing atmosphere when watching on TV, especially compared to most Serie A matches and stadia (with large bowl seating and a track around the field).

I also like to watch early rounds of the FA cup to see the non-league grounds. I've been in person to a couple Conference games in England and the small terraces around all 4 sides of the ground can create a lively and intimate atmosphere. I wish some of the college soccer stadiums here would take the same approach, rather than just building a single stand on one side of the field.

If you like non-league grounds, there are more than a few obsessives on the internet.  Pyramid Passion is a good start.  An example, The Polegrove of Bexhill United (10th level of the pyramid):

And in a similar style, here's Steel Field which was home to one of the great early clubs of American soccer, Bethlehem Steel:

I believe the stand still exists in some form and is used by Moravian College.  Bethlehem Steel won nine titles in various pro leagues from 1913 to 1929.  They still share the record for most US Open Cup titles (with Maccabi Los Angeles) with five.

So uh I am a stadia junkie - there is a website dedicated to Texas high school football stadiums, http://www.texasbob.com/stadium/, that I love. It has pretty much a photo of every stadium in the state, even tiny ass six-man football schools with 10 boys in the high school.

Is there anything at all equivalent to this sport?

It's not specific to soccer, though.

This reminded me quickly of the stadium that Bowdoin plays at in Brunswick Maine (as much as I hate those b-tards as a Colby Alum) the Stand is very cool and similar to Bexhills but with open sides.  Great place to see a game I'll be back in two years to see my Mules kick some Polar Bear ass!

Fucking hated playing there.  Field is a very long walk from the visitor's locker room through a freakin' forest.

Colby's field was actually nice from what I remember.

Ottmar Hitzfeld Stadium in Switzerland.  Accessible only via cable car:

Portugal's Estadio Municipal de Braga is a favorite of mine, already mentioned.

Aviva Stadium, here set up for Notre Dame-Navy.

Exterior view.

I love looking at the lower tier stadia.  My youth teams often play at more impressive facilities (Nantucket and Fall River come to mind immediately).

This is the Stade Paul Fédou, a 400-seat stadium in Luzenac, a town of 650 people in the French Pyrenees:

Luzenac FC were just promoted to Ligue 2.

(Unfortunately, because of league ground regulations, they'll have to play their home matches 80 miles away in Toulouse.)

Luzenac has been playing at the Stade du Courbet in nearby Foix in the Championnat National (D3) because their home stadium isn't adequate for even that level.  This offseason, the French body that oversees financial affairs in sport blocked Luzenac's promotion to Ligue 2 on financial grounds, but this decision was recently overturned by a local court.  Ligue 2 already spared Istres from relegation and has created the fixture list, so the re-addition of Luzenac will create some chaos by adding a 21st club temporarily to the league.

Former US U-20 goalkeeper Quentin Westberg starts for the club.

Eibar, who was first promoted to La Liga last year and IIRC is only staying up because of some violation by Elche, plays their matches in Ipurua Municipal Stadium. Ipurua has a capacity of ~6,300 and had to be expanded to be compliant with La Liga requirements. When Barca played there this year, a ball went out of the stadium and Hudson remarked that the ball wasn't coming back and some lucky kid just got a souvenir. Add in the picturesque Basque countryside and voila, football stadia beauty.

The Luzenac story upthread turned out to be a disaster. The club was finally denied admission to Ligue 2, then the third-tier Championnat National refused to take them back. All their first-team players were released and Luzenac wound up playing a reserve team in the seventh tier. So a promotion to Ligue 2 saw them in the seventh division due to nothing more than fighting over the rules. They did win promotion to the DH Midi-Pyrennes for this season, though.
