So HUGE game tomorrow for Arsenal obviously. And, unless I'm missing something, Everton dropping points today means that their last game against Arsenal is possibly still going to be important for them to avoid relegation.
If Everton beat Palace on Thursday, they are safe and the game at Arsenal doesn't matter for them. If Everton don't win on Thursday, they need to play for a result on Sunday.

Please tell me there's precedent for doing something as Spursy as losing to last place Norwich to miss out on top 4.

WHAT. A. FUCKING. SWING. THIS WEEK!

2016 was pretty close. I remember how the Arsenal people in my life and around here acted after that pipping that meant nothing...

Just get a point and get Son two goals. Doesn't seem like a big ask. Perhaps 2-2 with Sergeant and Son scoring all of the goals

I knew to keep on an eye on the game today, but got super sidetracked because of work and forget it was on. Big favor from Newcastle today; just need to take care of business against Norwich. Arsenal should also have their hands full with a desperate Everton side.

Spurs fans were loud today. I heard:

1--Conte chants
2--The Ginger from Sweden song
3--Everywhere we go...
4--And my favorite "Watching Tottenham on a Wednesday night, you play Thursday cuz you're fucking shite"

The 2021/2 season turned out to be really weird and had a pretty fun ending. Let this thread die and serve as a memorial to that. I moved today's posts into the new thread. Use that one.

  • Pretty jarring to see Dele and Tanguy putting in goals while wearing the lilywhites lavenders. Speaking of kits, it was overkill to have BOTH the lavender shirts AND the darker outer space/splatter ones. Like, keep it to one and let it potentially grow on me (narrator: they won't).
  • The Lucas banger at the ~3 minute mark is glorious. The Lucas goal at the ~5 minute mark is glorious. Lucas is generally NOT glorious, but man the dude can do some amazing things when he puts his head down.
  • Bergy's brace against LCFC is still 'moment of the season' I think. The second win against MANC is also up there. Stuffing Arsenal in the trash was the crescendo obvi.
  • This reminds me of how good Deki, Betancur, and Sess were late this season.
  • I'll never cease to be impressed by how well these guys can pick out the low corners.

Something I think that will fly under the radar was how good Doherty was once Conte got in charge. Everyone knows WB is his best position, and he really seemed to play the best soccer of his career once Conte got up and running. Will be interesting to see what he does next season provided he is healthy.

This is football good and ethically ??? (I don't know enough about the particulars to be more specific than just a bunch of question marks). I hope it does not come back to haunt.

Puts Spurs 4-deep at hard charging two-way MFs along with Hoj, Bentancur and Skipp. Allows for real rotation and also potentially more viable options for a 3-5-2 in some games, particularly if any creative Danish free agent MFs are added to the mix.

QFT. I hope the ethics are OK because the football aspect is on point. So long to Winsky--we already suspected this, but this makes it all but official. Would've made some sense to send him the other way but alas. I saw in the article that it's a 5-year contract, do we know the wages (N.B. linked article was paywalled).

BHA article from 06 April:

The Brighton and Hove Albion footballer Yves Bissouma and another man are still waiting to learn the outcome of a police investigation into claims of sexual assault.

The pair were arrested six months ago on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in a seafront night club in Brighton.

Today (Wednesday 6 April) Sussex Police said: “A man in his forties from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has had his conditional bail extended until Monday 6 June.

“A man in his twenties, also from Brighton, who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
...
Bissouma, who was previously on police bail, was released under investigation before the start of the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament which started in January.

The 25-year-old footballer and a man in his forties were arrested on suspicion of sexual assault at Arch, a seafront night club in Brighton, in the early hours of Wednesday 6 October.

The player was filmed being led out of the club, in King’s Road Arches, by officers from Sussex Police and the footage was widely shared on social media.

After what went down with Gattuso one has got to think Levy and the team has done their due diligence here.

Fixture list.

ManU on 3 days rest in October. Key stretch likely to be ManU on 2 days rest in April, followed by Liverpool on 3 days rest.

Run in is manageable--Crystal Palace, Villa, Brentford, Leeds.
