Houck reminds me of Jered Weaver

Does he have a shot to be starter 5?
For Houck and your question, here is Soxprospects summary of him:

Summation: Projects as a late-inning reliever, with a chance to develop into a mid-rotation starter if he can develop another secondary pitch to complement his slider and refine his fastball command. Has the size and demeanor you look for in a pitcher; able to bear down when necessary. Fastball and slider project as potential plus pitches. Changeup lags behind, but has shown potential against left-handed hitters, which will be vital given his low arm slot.

Not much not to like in this game. Also love the idea of a healthy Lucroy being part of this team. It was mentioned that he not only looked forward to being reunited with Roenicke, but was looking forward to working with Tek. Veteran presence splitting time behind the plate, with potential power, an established relationship with the skipper, looking to pick Varitek's brain, who gives you another option at 1st and is not named Plawecki? Yes please

No sooner do I post this do we find Walden plunking his second batter of the game to load the bases and bring the go ahead run to the plate.

FWIW...I was listening to part of the 8th on the radio, and they were talking about how Walden's been working on some sort of running 2-seamer that he only threw once last year. From what I saw in the 9th, it was running just a bit too much.

NESN is showing Braves @ Red Sox at 3 pm. Don't know if this is a repeat of yesterday's game or what.
EDIT: Never mind! They have only allotted 2 hours, so must be a repeat.

In the house today. Might have to leave early if it gets any higher than this 79 degrees.

Marcus Wilson with a 3-run bomb in the second!
4-1 Sox in the top of the 3rd, now with 2 on and one out.

Not a good way to close out the game. Valdez pitches well in his first inning but gives up 3 runs in the ninth. Adam Lau comes in and gives up a three run homer on his second pitch. Ends in 11-11 tie.

Not a fan of Valdez, Lau or Roenicke at the moment. Stayed to the end, mainly to watch Duran. Maybe 90% empty at the end.

Nice ballpark though, probably the nicest of the GF league. Cheap parking across the street too.

Where is the clown car? Thank goodness I've never heard of some of the worst error makers. Also, I hope Moreland is doing well, since Chavis doesn't need to be at first when a RH pitcher starts for the opponent.

Has Matt Vasgersian never been to a spring training game before? He’s shocked how full the stadium is, claiming to us “folks” that this doesn’t happen very often in Florida. It’s Red Sox Yankees for Christ’s sake

Wasn't Chatham the MVP of the Cape League?
