Baseball Almanac lists the Red Sox and the Philadelphia Athletics as the two teams leading MLB in walks allowed in a 9-inning game: 18. The NL record is held by the Giants, Phillies, and Dodgers: 17. Today's Red Sox weren't far behind: 16.

LF: Gonzalez?

He's back in now. Maybe just gave him a breather because it was such a long inning.
Also, nice to see Casas jack one.

It's pretty typical in spring training to pull a pitcher before he exceeds 30-35 pitches in an inning, and then bring him back in the next inning. The focus is on the getting the guy some up and down reps.

Yep, thanks. I was more concerned because GameDay included an "injury delay" message before he was removed. Glad he's back.

Red Sox score 2 with 2 out in the 9th to walk off the win.
Mayer knocked in the tying run with a grounder off the glove of the first baseman and ended up on second. He scored the game-winner on a hit by the catcher Kholohowthehelldoyouspellhisname.

Casas and Hamilton making the trip to PSL after, I think, playing at 6PM last night.

  1. David Hamilton (L) SS
  2. Ceddanne Rafaela (R) CF
  3. Triston Casas (L) 1B
  4. Romy Gonzalez (R) 3B
  5. Carlos Narvaez (R) C
  6. Nick Sogard (S) LF
  7. Vaughn Grissom (R) 2B
  8. Abraham Toro (S) DH
  9. Trayce Thompson (R) RF
SP: Newcomb
Casas homered last night, so I am pretty sure he played. Hamilton played, too. There is this new thing called a box score-- you can look at everyone who got into a game.

It's absolutely insane that in 2025 we don't have TV/stream coverage of all spring training games.
