Got an Alexa speaker for both kids for Christmas. At the same time upgraded Spotify to Family (3 simultaneous streams). My expectation was that these two actions would allow one kid to listen to Kidz Bop in his room while the other kid listened to some rock in his room. This is not what happened

ive spent an hour on this and am mostly frustrated. What I have gathered.

1. Spotify family allows up to 5 individual accounts under one common Family plan.
2. You can have up to 3 accounts playing at once, but one stream per account.
3. Amazon seems to limit Spotify to one account for a family***

this last point I am not sure on. There is Amazon Family Share and that might be what I need, separate profiles for all members?

this should be easier...

Are you sure about #1&2? It’s my understanding that a family is 6 accounts and there is no stream limit. I have never run into it.

We have a similar issue in that you can pair one Spotify account per Alexa account, rather than by device. It can be a pain since we now have it everywhere.
Of course it’s been awhile since I went hunting for a solution for this.

It is absurd that there is such a limit. What program a person uses with Alexa hardware should be irrelevant.

I’ve never managed to get Spotify to work right.

So I still use Pandora.

I believe Alexas can only play from one source regardless of what it is coming from. You’ll need 2 independent Amazon accounts to stream two feeds to two speakers.
