I was watching this on my phone while I was coming home on the T ... and was crying like a baby. Pedro, Youk, Manny, Damon back in Sox unis ... Foulke, probably the guy most responsible for us winning, carrying out the trophy ... Schilling coming out looking so thin with his son. And the clips they picked were awesome. Waterworks all around.

Say what you will but the Dentist is killin' it this year.

Who wasn't there last night, off the top of my head can only think of Bellhorn and Arroyo (counting Mueller and Roberts as "being there" because they were part of ceremony by filming something)

Mientkiewicz as well.....

Was lucky enough to be at this one, too. In spite of the frostbite, what a fantastic night at Fenway. Got a little emotional when G38 came out - loved seeing Trot and Gabe and the hugs all around. So fun. How does a decade go by that quickly?? Manny coming out the door from the scoreboard was pretty epic!

Haven't seen that in a while and it continues to be awesome.

I often think "Back goes Sheffield" would be an great SoSH handle but I thought of it too late, after I joined.

Mientkiewicz is also managing in the minors. That would explain his absence. Mueller is the Cubs' hitting coach. Dave Roberts is the Padres' bench coach. Other than that, everyone I was interested in seeing came.

I beg to differ .. the elephant in the corner is obviously Francona .. being busy it's obvious he couldn't attend - but I would have liked to have seen a recorded message as per Roberts and Mueller. There must still be some serious bad blood between ownership and Tito.

Probably more for the media thread but I would like to say its not satisfying to see the Boston Media (print journalists and talking heads) show their complete inability to let things go by taking to the backpages of the Globe( dickhead shanunessys was by far the worst followed by Mazz and Buckley) one more time to reemphasize all of Manny's dirty laundry and mistakes.

The fans loved him and still love him and it irks them so much they had to once again vilify him one day after an awesome celebration.

What I think is particularly egregious is they are painstaking in mentioning all his flaws and slights to people who never deserved it but they conveniently leave out the reason he will never just fade away into the background.

Without Manny and his big ass bat 2004 and 2007 DO NOT happen who knows how long the Red Sox are winless for . The refusal to acknowledge this fundamental fact is insane as they instead try to glorify the rest of the 2004 team except for Manny. He was the FUCKING MVP.  They can not be seperated no matter how hard the journalists try.

I'm glad the Red Sox realized this and had him throw out the first pitch.

You're right. I was thinking from a purely player standpoint. Francona's absence is conspicuous. Was he invited to attend and then didn't? If so, you're right. A lack of a recorded message is very telling about his relationship with ownership. If he wasn't invited then that also is very telling.

The best thing about that video is when he shows Damon's second homerun...finally something on the off beat.

Tito did come back in 2012 for the 100th Anniversary Festivities, so I'm sure he was invited for last night. Obviously he had to manage the Indians.
Yeah, you beat me to it on the 100th. I'm 100% fine with Tito (in case he was worried about it).
