The most encouraging thing for me is that he's a run-scoring machine. Obviously runs are a little bit like RBIs in their necessity for opportunity, but anyone who scores 10 runs in seven games is doing something right.

You have to get on base at a good clip to score 10 runs in 7 games. Players have more control over runs scored between getting on base themselves and ability to steal bases to get in scoring position or on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Obviously what their teammates do impacts them scoring, but if you don't get on base you don't score, obviously.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I was just watching an old No Reservations episode from 2010 where Bourdain visits Cuba. He goes to a baseball game and sure enough, in the first inning a young Castillo hits a ball out for a HR. You only hear the crack of the bat and see a few seconds of him rounding the bases, but I thought that was pretty neat. It's a great episode for baseball fans in general, very cool to hear them talk about the great young players that "if they left" could be stars in the US like Cespedes, Abreu etc.

I'm wondering if Castillo is hurt.

He got pulled after two at-bats on Monday, and didn't play yesterday and today. Haven't seen anything about it though.

Per Rotoworld:

Castillo will likely sit out much of this week as a precautionary measure, but he should ultimately be fine. The 27-year-old center fielder is batting .278/.333/.361 with three doubles, three walks, and six strikeouts in 39 plate appearances for the Surprise Saguaros. With good power and speed, he has the potential to carry significant fantasy value in 2015. Oct 21 - 5:47 PM

Red Sox outfielder Rusney Castillo, who suffered a bruised thumb and hand when getting jammed by a pitch on October 20 in the Arizona Fall League, remains sidelined, with the team and player working to determine the course of action for Castillo going forward this winter.
At this point, while multiple industry sources suggest that Castillo will simply need rest to treat the injury, a sidelining that was initially characterized as day-to-day has grown to the point where it’s likely unrealistic that Castillo will continue play in the Arizona Fall League. Indeed, there is a chance that the 27-year-old will not play in the Puerto Rico Winter League, though a determination on that front has yet to be made by Castillo and Red Sox officials.
Castillo, who signed a contract in August that runs through 2020 for $72.5 million, is hitting .278 with a .333 OBP and .361 slugging mark with three doubles, three walks and six strikeouts in 39 plate appearances for the Surprise Saguaros. He was named to the AFL Rising Stars team.
He’s up to a total of 125 plate appearances (39 in the AFL, 40 with the Red Sox in the big leagues, 46 in the minors after signing). The Sox had outlined a goal for Castillo of accumulating approximately 200 plate appearances by the time he concludes his first professional tour, though given his current time on the shelf, that goal may be in some jeopardy. The Caguas Criollos (the team for which Castillo is scheduled to play in Puerto Rico) open their schedule on Thursday.

Not here
He's on the roster for the Fall Stars Game (MLBN 8 Eastern) and it would seem odd to me for them to do that if he wasn't going to play. It's not like he got injured yesterday.
