He’s still really really good and a very obvious roster fit.

But he fucking sucks. Hate him

Whenever you have the opportunity to sign a domestic abuser who also happens to be in decline, you kind of have to, right?

If true, he easily becomes the most difficult Red Sox player for me to root for. He's a POS

He sucks as a person, but from a strictly baseball perspective this is a good signing. He was good for Pittsburgh last year and a high lev lefty that is likely going to be on a one year deal seems exactly like what we need.

I’d rather pay through the nose for Scott or suffer through Bernie & Murphy again than this asshole

In theory on the field he could get some holds our current lefties cannot… or you know, he’ll walk the house more and more as he declines

Gross please no

I will root for him to get injured every pitch I won’t care about the laundry

How is the front office so tone deaf?

If they get this done before the 7th the open house is going to see pushback

Just gross

61 IP, 98 strikeouts. Stuff seems to still be there. Too many walks though, but the Sox need a power lefty out of the pen. I think we would be disappointed if we followed around 50% of MLB players in their off time.

This is like the one thing they could have done that would make me turn off the team.

Fuck.

I was so fucking excited for this offseason, too.

Please no. I can't root for this guy.
Same. Dombrowski was in trade talks with the Reds about him, but when the choking/gun incident with the girlfriend came out, he stopped them immediately and moved on to Kimbrel. Then Cashman swooped in and got Chapman for nothing.

These jerseys are going to sell like crazy. Just in time for Christmas!

(I almost said they’d sell like hot cakes. Why are hot cakes such a volume purchase?)

Well credit to Jimmy Stewart I guess. He said a move was coming we'd all hate and he was right. No interest in rooting for this asshole. Hopefully, Bailey and Breslow tinker with his mechanics and he blows out his arm so we don't have to watch him.

Sure, but there's a wide chasm between players doing things that disappoint us and players who fire guns in anger and choke their girlfriends.

Uggggggggggh

I don't know how to root for this guy. May be a good baseball move but some things are more important than skill on a baseball field.

Off the field issues aside, is this what the FO views as the answer as the closer or is he a setup guy?
Imagine between he, Hendriks, and Slaten; the closer role is covered. Can’t imagine they’d spend more assets on the bullpen at this point; only so many roster spots.
