Eh, if his bad year is 87 K's in 59 innings and a WHIP of 1.04, I'm okay with it.This makes me nervous, as Kimbrel wasn't that good last year.
His second half numbers were more or less in line with his career stats. E.g., OPS against was back down to .426, WHIP back down to 0.73, K numbers consistent. So at first blush it seems like he just had a rocky start in SD. Of course, that begs the question about whether he will settle in to Boston right away, but it doesn't suggest that he's jumped the shark at age 27.This makes me nervous, as Kimbrel wasn't that good last year.
That's disappointing, but OTOH Kimbrel is a premier reliever signed for three more years--granted, very much at market value, but still. You can't expect to get that for peanuts.
You do have a point there.Eh, if his bad year is 87 K's in 59 innings and a WHIP of 1.04, I'm okay with it.
