(I'm a Kevin veteran and my Schilling's bloody sock painting from him is my favorite piece of art work in the world.)

Outbid me someone.  You wont regret it.

I own four of Kevin's (The Allented One) pieces, and can attest to the quality of his artwork.  They are all terrific and fun conversational pieces when people are in my office.  Thank you for your efforts and generosity, Kevin!

Can't bid at the moment, but I also own about 10 pieces of Kevin's art, maybe more, ranging from portraits of my children to various sports figures, and can attest to their quality and workmanship.  I've never commissioned art from anyone else, and likely never will.

There's art that you sorta "get" when you see it in a museum, but you know that you'd never want to look at it every single day hanging in your home.

This is something I think you could get used to seeing, thinking, feeling... every single day.

Wow, thanks everyone, I'm overwhelmed by the kind words and bids.

Given some of the responses here, would people be interested in paying a flat fee for professional prints made from this drawing? Say, $100 apiece? Limited run, signed/numbered, yadda yadda, all proceeds to go to the SoSH Runs Boston fund?

I'm sensitive to the the people still bidding for the original and don't want them to feel it's devalued by offering prints, so I'm looking for open and honest feedback here.

In for a $100 print.

Right after I posted about the possibility of a print, I wondered if i made a faux pas. My apologies. IMO there may be a broad market for a quality print made from the original.

In for a print.  And would truly love one.

I can't speak for The Napkin -- I can barely speak for myself -- but if I were the lead bidder, the notion of other Sox fans having prints of this beauty wouldn't faze me in the least.  To the contrary, I would enjoy that others are getting to enjoy a likeness of the painting too.

I'm close to making the prints thing happen. These would be high quality reproductions: giclee prints on woven paper, they will be nice-looking pieces as opposed to something resembling a poster. Given the outlay required to do this and the quality of the final product, I'd like to increase the flat fee to $150 for the fund's sake. I know I quoted $100, so before I do anything I wanted to gauge interest. If you're still in at $150, PM me to let me know (those who I've already traded PMs with, you're all set). If you can't swing $150, that's completely OK, I just need to know numbers beforehand so I can determine how many prints to run. It's going to be a small number no matter what, possibly 16 at the most, and they'll be signed/numbered.

I'll start a new thread for the prints when the time comes. The payment instructions are going to be different, TallerThanPedroia will advise, so anyone interested should follow the instructions there.

Short version: Since the dollar figure is high, I'm going to have people donate directly to our individual charities, instead of GoFundMe, though the grand total there will reflect all donations. Direct donations will allow for tax deductions and corporate matching, and won't cost us GFM's fees.

Current high bid is The Napkin with $2,100. Did he ban Holden? Does no one else want to own this gorgeous piece of art? Less than 30 hours to make it your own!

Reminder of the rules:

1. It is the job of the auction starter to close the thread and declare the winner.
2. Anti-poaching - If someone bids in the last 5 minutes before closing, the last two bidders will make final "sealed" bids via PM - copy me and Rip.
3. Once a winner is declared, PM me and I'll give you donation instructions.
4. I will confirm that the donation has been received.
5. It's up to buyer and seller to negotiate delivery.

Please DO NOT donate without talking to me first. I'm going to have the winner donate directly to our individual fundraising pages*, which will save us both time and GoFundMe's fees, allow me to divvy the donations evenly among the four runners, and allow winners to take the charitable deduction and/or do an employer match.

*FYI - given the size of the current bid, I will likely ask the winner to break it up into several smaller direct donations

As another multi-piece customer of Kevin's (an Auerbach, a Larry Legend, and an El Tiante), there are no superlatives I can offer that would eclipse the plaudits already posted here, or the jaw-dropping awe any viewers of his web site will experience upon seeing his varied works. Suffice to say he kicks ass, and not just artistically. To be able to seclude himself in his basement studio, beers at the ready, an extremely cool blues & funk-heavy musical mix on his playlist, and churn out such incredible stuff makes me simultaneously jealous of his talents and proud to call him a friend. Dude smokes some mean ribs and briskets in his backyard, too.

Count me in for a print at whatever price is deemed the going rate.

Auction's closed! Congratulations Nap, and thank you for your overwhelming generosity. You can work out payment arrangements with TtP as per his request, and I'll hand-deliver the framed piece to you at a time and place of your convenience.

I'll start a separate thread regarding prints tomorrow.
