I thought it would be fun to have a weekly DraftKings contest and gamble a little money with you all, so I'd like to gauge interest and get thoughts on buy-in and payouts.

Since DraftKings will cancel a league if it doesn't fill up and in order to allow folks to not have to play every week, I will setup a weekly league with a set number of slots and then it'll be first come first serve until the league is full. That way you can choose to sit out a week if you'd like and we have less risk of people not joining and the league getting cancelled.

I'll set the predetermined number of people once we have enough interest. I'm open for ideas.

I was thinking a $2-$3 single entry league with top 2-3 getting paid out depending on how many people are committed. I will setup the league every Monday and post in this thread when it is open, then it'll be up to you to join.

Thoughts? Interest?

I'm in. Like the idea, I'm ok with those entry amounts and payouts.

Never done this, but sounds fun.

Only note of caution is that if we're doing this through DraftKings, I think that those living in NY won't be able to participate. (Made it by this much.)

So far I've got 6 participants including myself. I'll give it until tomorrow to see if there is any other interest and if you all want, I'll setup a game this week. Otherwise, we can wait until Monday to see if we can get a bigger game.

League has been setup for this week. Please go in and reserve an entry into the league ASAP - you can do this without drafting your lineup yet and go back in whenever you want before tomorrow at 3:20PM.

If any other folks are interested for next week, please post here or PM me your handle. If you do not have a draftkings account yet, let me know and I will do referrals and split the referral bonus with anyone that we sign up.

Good luck everyone!

I'm thinking there will be a lot of similar lineups this week with the limited field. It was actually tougher picking a lineup than I expected given the limited availability and the cost of the top golfers.

And, we're off. I like that I get credit for a WIN when my golfer is like 1 of 6 to tee off and is in first place.

None of my golfers were picked by any more than 2 people.

This was a good tournament to start with since there is no cut, everyone should do pretty well and be in it until the end. The real fun will start next week when there is a cut, that's when it gets tough.

Pretty tightly bunched. If you take away the 30 points for 1st place, the top 4 are separated by just 19 points, and the other 3 are separated by a point and a half.

I was surprised I was the only one that picked Spieth.
He was too expensive in such a short field. I didn't think it was worth it.
I'm getting the sense that I'll come to regret my last minute decision to swap out Patrick Reed in order to get under the $50 cap ...
That's what makes it so much fun. I've done that numerous times and regretted it later.

Earlier this year in an NFL league I swapped out James White for Shane Vareen last minute and it was the difference between winning $80 and winning $8000. Needless to say, I was kicking myself.

I hope some of you entered the $200k PGA tournament. My 476 points has me comfortably in the money (used the same lineup).
Huh - I entered the $20K "Birdie" and was nowhere near the money with 581 points - looks like I jumped into the shark pool there? I was too late for the SoSH pool this week but will get in on the action going forward.

I stupidly entered a different lineup. Cost me some money there.

Great week of golf. Congrats to TFP on the inaugural win.

New game will be up sometime tomorrow.
I was lucky.

He posted that in the middle of the tourney (round 2 or 3). Obviously the point total went up over time. My 651.50 points would have won me about $10 in the $200k tourney.

A quick question before I start this week's tournament.

1) Was everyone happy with the $2 entry fee or given the limited number of people, do we want to bump it to $5?
2)Do we want to allow multiple entries or leave it at single entry?

Ok that was 2 questions.

I'm ok leaving well enough alone, but wanted to hear if others felt differently.

I'm having deposit issues with DK (my bank is a pain), so if I can't get it straightened out, please invite me for next week.

Will do. It kicked back a deposit I made last weekend. It happens periodically. If I don't hear back from bank by late this afternoon I'll let you know.

I got it fixed. I'm in.

Bigger field should be much more interesting.

OK, speaking of embarrassing myself ...

I just checked my team for this week and discovered that two of the players I drafted are not there and one of them has been replaced by a player I've never heard of. I'm guessing that this is what happens when a player withdraws? You just get assigned a random player? (Or perhaps you get the alternate who comes in?)

Anyway, I guess I'll need to fill out my lineup later in the week to avoid this problem in the future.

Well, at least so far, my 2 highest priced guys are in 1st and 2nd. If those big $ guys flame out it's gonna hurt.

Looks like I'm the only one with Zach Johnson, and one of 2 with Snedeker.

I thought I was sitting pretty as the only entry to have all 6 make the cut, forgetting about the possibility of MDFs. Of course DLIII and Knost both miss the Saturday cut by one stroke and now I will be hanging on for dear life today.

Snedeker!!! Although like most DK games, it was getting points from guys no one else had that made the difference.

Glad I got my deposit issues fixed.
