With the 96th pick the Vikings select - Josh Huff WR Oregon. LB is also a need here, but if any QB is going to succeed in Minny they are going to need weapons. Huff gives the Vikings some depth behind Jennings and Patterson.

I get what Eck is trying to do, but it was stated early on that the intention of this mock draft was to pick who you think the team Should take, not who you think they will draft.  I have a hard time believing anyone thinks the Patriots should draft Deering in the 3rd round.

The Steelers have needed a corner, but picked for value with their first two picks. Now it is time to get both, with gigantic VaTech corner Antone Exum

I literally researched thirty or more different players at that pick. I couldn't find a good fit/value. They need help on the oline but we're into the lower tier of choices right now and I didn't think any of the tackles, guards or centers available were worth the pick. Especially because this tier is extremely deep. Same with WR and RB, those positions have some talent/value in the later rounds. I wasn't enamored with any of the QB's or TE's left on the board. I already picked a versatile d-linemen in Hageman who can play inside or out, and I got great value with Attaochu who can rush from OLB, DE and is actually decent in coverage. None of the DB's represented good value to me either, a lot of red flags on and off the field. So where was I to go?

I did what I thought BB would do, yes, but I also knew that they shouldn't be picking anyone at that spot. I probably should have traded the pick.

Eck, you paid homage to the greatest coach/gm of our generation in the 3rd round. So it isn't 100% of what we were supposed to do. I like it - you get style points. Now if BB did it? I wouldn't like it. But you trolled us, BB style - and that's just entertaining.

I like it too, but I think BB would take a guy like this in the 5th round or later. If he couldn't trade out and there wasn't an obvious need, wouldn't he take the highest guy on his board?

The Packers need to continue to add weapons around Aaron Rodgers. We select WR Donte Moncrief of Ole Miss. At 6'3 and 220 lbs, he is a tall and physical player who possesses good hands and is an advanced route runner. The only thing that he's missing is elite straight line speed, but we think he plays faster than his 4.40 40. I truly think he's the Aaron Dobson of this class: an underrated player who will play a big role with a top flight QB.
I think you're up with the Pack's compensatory pick (#98). Tried to PM you but your mailbox is full.

At this point does anyone think Red would care if someone just made a pick for the Packers so we can finish this up?

He's taken Troy Niklas TE, Jimmy Ward S, and Donte Moncrief WR so far. Not sure what other needs they have.

This site lists S, ILB, OLB, C, TE, and QB as top needs. RO's already nabbed a TE and S. Based on rough draft board consensus, Travis Swanson (C, Arkansas), Christian Jones (ILB, Florida State), and Carl Bradford (OLB, Arizona State) would be good options. The article mentions Swanson by name, so maybe he'd be a good fit?

Any one of those guys would be a good option, but I like the Swanson pick. The Packers lost their C, Evan Dietrich-Smith, to TB and don't really have a good in-house option to replace him.

With the second to last selection, the Baltimore Ravens select:

Dion Bailey, FS, USC

In last year's draft, the Ravens were joyous when Matt Elam, a standout Strong Safety, fell to us with the 32nd pick.  We had two starters at FS and SS already, and were ready to bring Elam along slowly.  However, due to the suckitude of Michael Huff, we were forced to slide Elam in as a starter at FS.  Now, we can slide him back to SS, his natural position.  In Bailey we get an athletic FS, but a physical player, who has experience also at OLB.  His size is more suited for FS, but he has experience at SS/OLB and FS, so he is also versatile.  All conference at two different positions, and even though he is a Junior he already has his degree.  Bright kid, bright future.
