I think he's not taken so the Cleveland Browns select Telvin Smith, LB FSU. A small athletic linebacker who excels in coverage and has the frame to put on some muscle. Can be a sub linebacker/special teamer early on.

With the 72nd pick the Minnesota Vikings select - Jimmy Garoppolo - QB. The Vikings finally get their QB in this draft, Garoppolo most likely wont't have an impact this year but is someone would could use a year or 2 to develop before stepping into the starting role. This may end up being the best course of action for the Vikings, addressing other needs early in the draft before QB. Had this draft had gone a little different I would have had the Vikings taking another QB earlier in the draft, however I don't think any of the other QB's were necessarily worth trading picks to move up to get. Guys like Manziel or Bortles would be immediately pressed into action, on a team with a lot of holes.

Damn, wrong Smith.  This is the Smith I was going to take.  With the 74th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select: Chris Smith, DE, Arkansas.  We could certainly use a little more depth at DE and this guy seems to have the right combination of smarts and quickness to improve the pass rush.

After considering moving back and still needing to address a thin secondary, the Rams decide to stand pat and continue to add to the offense.

With the 75th pick in the draft, the Rams select OG Dakota Dozier from Furman

He doesn't quite have the technique to stay at tackle, where he played in college, but is projected to move to guard where he can use his light feet and aggressive run blocking to open up holes on the inside. Locates blocking assignments at the second level well and is a very good blocker on the move. The Rams signed Scott Wells to play C, and now have bookend tackles in Long and Robinson to go along with with Saffold and Dozier at G. What was once a big weakness on the team has now potentially become a strength.

With the 76th pick the Detroit Lions select Kareem Martin - DE UNC. Although LB is also a need the Lions need another defensive end to replace the departed Willie Young . Martin has some issues with going full speed all the time , but I love his potential paired with the rest of Detroit's D-Line. On mobile can someone PM the next person for me .

Nice pick.  I was debating between Martin and Smith for my last pick.  Went with the smaller, faster player.

With pick #78, the cowboys select. Cyril Richardson, guard, Baylor.

A quick check of the cowboys roster shows that they prefer really big guards. Every guard on the roster is around 6'4 and 320 lbs. Richardson fits the bill at 6'4 and 329 lbs. He put up a respectable 7.70 in the three cone drill and 25 reps not the bench. Tyron Smith, Frederick and Richardson form a young core for Dallas in front of Romos achy back.

With pick 79, the Ravens select:

Tre Mason, RB, Auburn

Ray Rice is old.  Ray Rice might be going to jail.  We need to replace Ray Rice's production.

From CBSSports.com:

COMPARES TO: Ray Rice, Ravens - Mason's compact build, vision and ability to cut and go with underrated power is reminiscent of a young Rice. Much of Rice's success at Rutgers and since with the Ravens has come from a traditional I-formation attack.

PM on its way.

EDIT:  According to CBSSportsline, the Ravens were able to select the #1 OG, the #3 TE, and the #1 RB.  I'm just sayin'....

After adding two offensive chess pieces, New York Jets go back to the defensive side of the ball and select:

McGill, Keith CB

McGill is a tall corner (6'3") with fluid hips and long reach. Also performed very well at the combine, clocking in at 4.51.

But the best part of McGill is his versatility (can play safety if injury concerns are addressed), and has good, quick read on the routes. Also possessing strong hands (thanks to his reach), he's exactly the boost Jets' weak secondary needs.

McGill = Gronk Killer. Eat it BB.

Can't say if Jets weren't intrigued by the idea of a Garoppolo. Dgilpin's pick made it easier to go with a corner.

Wow Miami is already having buyers remorse on their second round pick.  Skov's draft stock is falling like a rock this week, there was a run on Tackles at the end of the second round and there are still some good MLB options on the board here.  Well if I am going to screw up a draft for a franchise, at least it is Miami.

With the 81st pick the Dolphons take Jack Mewhort OT, Ohio State.  Mewhort is likely the top OT left on the board and Miami has no depth (or really starters) at the position.  He is more likely a fit as a right tackle but has position flexibility to play inside.  I took a long look at Seantrel Henderson, he has great potential but there are a lot of red flags swirling around him.  Miami, Red Flags, Offensive line is not a great combo right now.

With Mack, James, and Brooks already in the fold, the Falcons have addressed some of our biggest needs already. This is kind of a bonus pick, where I'm looking best player available. I thought about some skill player options (since Tony Gonzalez retired and Steven Jackson and Roddy White aren't getting any younger), but I think the best value here is another pass rusher.

With the 82nd pick, the Falcons select Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford.

Murphy has good size (6'5" 250 lbs) and has been a terrific producer at Stanford (15 sacks last year led the nation). He gets dinged for his athleticism, but his three-cone time was second among DE/OLBs at the combine. He has experience playing both DE and OLB and gets top marks for his intangibles and leadership. He can start as a rotational player and special teamer for the Falcons and hopefully grow into a bigger role; there's no one really stopping him (Osi Umeniyora led the team with a pedestrian 7.5 sacks and he turns 33 in November).

The Cleveland Browns select Charles Sims, RB West Virginia. He brings receiving skills and elusiveness to the Browns RB position.

The Cardinals aren't going to go far for this pick. While we have a somewhat crowded front 4 already the fact that this guy is still available to us is surprising. We want him to play at a lower weight and we project him as a DT with DE potential. He's got a ton of pass rushing potential and we just couldn't let him slide past us. If you look at our needs you'll see that for TE, FS, CB, and OLB we can get guys later on in the draft. Most of the 2nd-3rd round grades we have are for players in positions technically we don't necessarily need. But why waste a 3rd round pick on a guy you have a 4th or 5th round grade when you have 3-4 guys who will be available then?

We're going with an in-state kid. He's going to be a controversial pick but I believe if he plays around 270-300 instead of 330+ he is going to be an explosive force, a Geno Atkins light if you will.

Our pick, with the 84th pick in the draft is Will Sutton,  DT/DE Arizona State.

The Cardinals have had 3 picks. All 3 have been on the offensive and defensive lines and I think we have had tremendous value for 2 of them (this one and Moses). I feel like we got 2 1st round grade guys and 1 second round grade guy in Sutton. If Sutton had a repeat of his 2012 year he would have been a top 15 pick. He has immense upside as a pass rusher and he could easily be more.

Hambone, this one's for you!

PM Sent to J-Man.

If my drafting style reminds you of RFP at all then good. I firmly believe that aside from QB your most important positions are your fronts. O-Lines and D-Lines dictate more of the game than skilled players on average. Sure, there are skilled guys like Sammy Watkins who I think are bonafide game changing superstars to be but after QB my priorities are always for the lines in pass-rushing and pass-protection.

With the 86th pick in the draft the Eagles select

Daquan Jones NT, Penn State

The Eagles go local and grab one of the better DT's in the draft to shore up the middle of their d line. Bennie Logan hasn't been anything special and it's a shame with Fletcher Cox lining up next to him. I can't believe he dropped this far, the 6'4" 322lb monster has great first step explosiveness and strength to collapse the pocket. It's possible this kid could make Cox even better by occupying more blockers. He's literally a perfect fit for the Iggles D.

Sorry for the delay Fridays have been busy lately.

I like a lot of the recent picks. Specifically: Sutton and Jones are great value at this point, Borland is a tackling machine and could go much higher in the real draft. McGill has all of the tools and could turn out to be a steal if he puts it all together. Nice picks, fellas.

Raiders pick a guy... and I need to leave so write-up later... but we really like Caraun Reid. We feel like he is a bit raw but has a very high ceiling as a DT pass rusher. Considering we play in a QB stacked division we need a good pass rusher up the gut.

With the 87th pick in the draft the Raiders select Caraun Reid, Princeton, DT.  Can't pm right now... if someone could do that for me that would be great.

The Raiders traded back hoping to get Sutton or Reid. Luckily for us Reid was available.

With the 88th pick in the draft, the Bengals select:

A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama

Truth be told, the Bengals have a few holes on their roster.  Sadly, QB might be the biggest one.  Dalton gets one more "show us" year, given the playoff berths, etc.  But if he isn't the answer, the Bengals need to have someone on the roster who can step in under center in 2015.  McCarron's gonna get a year to learn, and if needed, a full off-season as the starter.

Bills went back and forth between Fleming and Dozier. Dozier is more athletic, while Fleming is bigger and more polished. Ultimately, I think Dozier has a higher ceiling, but Fleming has a higher floor, and the Bills can't really afford to miss.

I apologize for the delay. With the 89th pick, the Chargers select Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood. San Diego finally gets the corner they need, a big guy from a small school that can hopefully match up with the Demaryius Thomas/Dwayne Bowe types in the division.

Saints select Ross Cockrell, CB, Duke. He's got good size and had great production in college. He has experience playing in the slot, so New Orleans can use him in current ways. He's also got a rep for being chippy and irritating opponents; sounds like a perfect fit for a Ryan D.

With the 92nd pick, the St. Louis Rams add DB Bashaud Breeland from Clemson

After scouting Sammy Watkins extensively, the Rams kept noticing a player on the other side of the ball that we feel can come in and be our 3rd CB with the upside of being a starter out of the gate. He's got the size and strength to compete with bigger receivers and play press man coverage, while also showing the flexibility to play some zone. With our defense heading towards a press man defense, we feel he will fit right in.

In true BB fashion, I have to make a pick in the first 3 rounds that has the entire football community asking, "What the hell?"

So, with the 93rd pick the New England Patriots select

Jeremy Deering, QB/RB/WR/KR/FS THE Rutgers University

Yup. Jeremy who? The 6'2" 220 lb uh... football player, had a pretty impressive pro-day running a 4.35 40, 34" vert, 10'6" broad and a 6.99 3-cone. He's athletic, versatile and was recruited by Schiano. That's the triple crown for BB, right? The kid was an outstanding kick returner and has shown explosive speed when he get's his hands on the ball. He was moved to safety his senior year after literally playing everywhere else. This seems like the exact type of thing Bill would do on draft day just to screw with people. Extremely athletic guy who no one was looking at in the 3rd.

Now THAT'S a Patriots draft pick. I certainly didn't see Jeremy Deering coming off the board this early. Actually, I'll be completely honest and admit I've never heard of the guy before in my life.

With the 94th pick in the draft, the Rams select QB Randy Savage

Whooops. Not the Macho Man! We want the QB from PITT, Tom Savage

Sam Bradford has been inconsistent and unable to stay healthy. The Rams have had contact with a number of QB's prior to the draft (most notably AJ McCarron, who was taken earlier) and need a better option at backup QB than Shaun Hill if Bradford gets hurt or doesn't take the next step. Savage has been a late riser in the draft process, but we like his size, arm strength and familiarity with an NFL style offense playing under center. He should have a few seasons to develop behind a (hopefully) healthy Bradford.
