Okay, having failed at finding a dance partner, the Bengals are making a selection.

Marcus Martin, C, USC

One of the weaknesses with our offense is our interior OL.  Center Kyle Cook graded out at -4.8 on the season from PFF.  Martin is a nasty dude, prone to the cheap shot after the whistle, but he'll bring some intensity to the interior of our OL.  6' 3" 320 lbs, plays low to the ground, and is solid in the run game.  Started as a true freshman at LG at USC, so he also brings some flexibility.

Nice pick mascho. The Pats were seriously considering him. He may not be as polished as some of the other o-linemen available but, IMO, he has one of the highest ceilings.

With the retirement of Jordan Gross the Panthers find themselves needing to fill a major hole at a key point on the offensive line.  The Panthers were high on Morgan Moses and had taken a gamble that he would fall to them at the end of the second round with one of their two recently acquired 2nd round picks.  That gamble didnt pay off and the Panthers are left with a tough choice of taking a player who played well during the 2012 CFB season but stumbled a little bit during the 2013 season.

With the 56th pick the Carolina Panthers select Antonio Richardson, OT from the University of Tennessee.

Richardson is a big guy at 6-6 and 336 and works well in the run game.  He has quick feet, long arms and has a nasty streak that makes him good for the LT.  He needs to improve his technique but the Panthers are confident that he will return to his 2012 form.

Thanks SN. Cardinals need to groom a young offensive lineman. We actually had a first round grade on him. Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia.

These are the two other guys the Falcons were looking at when we took Ja'wuan James, unsurprisingly. They're all pretty good prospects; I felt like James was a little safer, with the downside that he doesn't have the LT experience the other two do. Glad I didn't try to trade down anymore.

I wanted either Moses or Richardson for the exact reason you felt James was safer.  The Panthers need a LT in the worst way and the FA market for OT is slim pickings as it stands right now.  I was higher on Moses but only because he had a good 2013 CFB season.  Richardson would have been a 1st round pick if he played as well in 2013 as he did in 2012

With the 57th pick (NOT the 55th, D'oh), the chargers select DeMarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB, Boise State

I was initially thinking Corner for San Diego's second pick, but Jean-Baptiste and Joyner were the two guys I was targeting.  San Diego really needs help at all levels of their defense, and after getting Nix in the first to stuff up the middle, Lawrence should help us generate a lot more pressure on the quarterback.  Lawrence had 20 sacks in his two years of starting and has fairly good size for a hybrid at 6'3, 250.  Didn't expect to see Lawrence available at this point, and the Chargers are happy to add him to the mix.  We will need to address corner in the coming rounds.

This statistic surprised me and will probably surprise many of you: the Saints were 4th in the NFL in scoring defense last year and 10th in scoring offense. That's right - after years of having a great O and suspect D, the D was actually better than the offense last year. And they've added several pieces to the D this offseason already, between FA acquisitions Jairus Byrd and Champ Bailey and OLB Kyle Van Noy, who we tabbed in the first round. Time to attack the offensive side of the ball.

For a pass-happy team, WR is pretty suspect for New Orleans. Marques Colston was the only WR to finish in the top 60 in the NFL in catches, and he turns 31 before the season. Lance Moore was 62nd among WR with 41 catches, but he signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent. Next is rookie Kenny Stills, who finished just 79th in the NFL with 35 catches. The Saints need help, and will select Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt with the 58th pick.

Matthews has size (6'3", 212), speed (4.46 40), production (SEC's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards), and intangibles (team captain, related to Jerry Rice). In the first paragraph of his writeup in the RSP, Matt Waldman highlights that he's a perfect fit for the Saints and what they do offensively. He can the skill set to play outside, but he can be dominant inside using his size and toughness against smaller slot corners. He's a safe bet with upside and can take some heat off Colston and Graham.

EDIT: I PM'd Phragle, but there's some confusion as to who actually has the Colts ... or is there?

I think TriniSox is fine with someone making the pick for him, no need for a PM.  I say just go ahead and make the pick to keep this thing moving.

That's funny. Earlier today I was about to make the same pick for Indy. Definitely fills a need for them in the back end of the secondary where they're an injury away from starting old friend Sergio Brown. Bucannon would be an upgrade.

With #60 the Giants take Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State

The Giants traded down from #43 and got shit value for doing so.  Oh well.  Fuck the Giants.  They traded down because they had been targeting Niklas, Su'a-Filo, Bitonio, or Yankey at #43, but all were gone by #35.  In the actual draft, I have a hard time imaging so many middle of the line players and a well-rounded but not elite athletic TE go so quickly.  Teams will be moving up for QBs and DBs, right?

But the Giants have major needs in the middle of their O-line as every guy on the depth chart has significant questions marks around him.  In Richburg, the Giants get a prospect who receives rave reviews from talent evaluators with some pundits and anonymous sources projecting him to sneak into the first round.  That's a bit much for a center, but he's strong value at #60.  Entering next season, Richburg is the JD Walton back up plan at center and is expected to initially get limited snaps as part of the guard rotation.  And when the inevitable injuries hit, he'll be seeing lots of snaps. Long term, Richburg anchors the line at center with Beatty and Pugh at the tackles.

With the 61st pick in the draft the Carolina Panthers select Allen Robinson, WR from Penn State

Carolina had massive holes at the WR position and thanks to the WR depth in this draft we feel very comfortable that the combination of Benjamin and Robinson will help shrink that massive hole.  At 6-2 and 220lbs, Robinson is the other half of what Carolina needed this draft.  Robinson doesnt have the ceiling of Mike Evans or the speed of Odell Beckham Jr. but he has solid hands and a ballhawk mentality.  Robinson is a good possession receiver, good in open spaces after the catch and at making defenders miss tackles.  He is compared, by Walterfootball.com, to Anquan Boldin both in physicality and quickness.   Robinson would have gone much higher in any draft where the WR depth wasnt as great as this one has been.

The Panthers consider themselves very lucky that their needs in WR matched up nicely with the depth in the 2014 NFL draft.

The Patriots have to tip their cap to the Panthers for making a really great pick. Robinson represents great value and fills a need for that squad. He would have looked damn good in a Pats uniform though... The hardest part about this pick was whether to draft for need or draft the best player available. I went BPA.

With the 62nd pick the New England Patriots select

Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB/DE Georgia Tech

With many of the better o-line prospects off the board and just missing out on Robinson the Pats decided to go with the best talent available. Attaochu will provide the Pats with a pass rush specialist they've been lacking. With first round pick Hageman collapsing the pocket and Chandler Jones rushing the QB, it will open up lanes for Attaochu to rack up sacks. He's a little raw but with the other LB's on the team he can ease himself in slowly.

The Packers need to continue to add weapons around Aaron Rodgers. We select WR Donte Moncrief of Ole Miss. At 6'3 and 220 lbs, he is a tall and physical player who possesses good hands and is an advanced route runner. The only thing that he's missing is elite straight line speed, but we think he plays faster than his 4.40 40. I truly think he's the Aaron Dobson of this class: an underrated player who will play a big role with a top flight QB.

With #64 the Giants select CJ Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa.

The Giants are trying to salvage something here by spinning off the 4th rounder picked up from Carolina to get the last solid TE prospect in the draft. This is an area of great need for the Giants with Bears and Seahawks cast-off Kellen Davis signed a couple weeks ago as the de facto starter. That's not gonna cut it.

CJ has the size and physical traits to be a superb block-and-catch TE, a guy who will help on the line as much as down the field. And in many ways, he is directly comparable to the top TE on our board, Niklas, except the motor and work ethic. That's a problem, so we're counting on Coach Coughlin to light a fire under his ass to get CJ to maximize his potential. Not a sure thing, but the drop off in quality among the TE prospect is so steep here, it's a gamble we needed to take.

With the rest of the draft, the Giants will be looking to LB, RB, d-line, and guard for developmental players with a preference for athletic ability over production.

Dropped TheDuece a line.

Dallas is looking to move up in the 3rd round, somewhere in the first 5 picks.  I can offer #78 (3rd round), #158(5th round), and #229 (7th round).  Thats about 240-250 points from the old value chart, about right to get to the front of the 3rd round.

After not getting any desirable trade offers for #65, the Houston Texans have decided to stand pat, and improve the pass rush.  With the 65th pick, the Texans select Marcus Smith, OLB/DE, Louisville.

Smith had an explosive 14.5 sacks in his final year in Louisville, and showed good straight line speed at the combine with a 4.68.  He should fit in nicely in the rotation as a rush OLB in Crennel's 3-4, and enable the Texans to generate some pressure from someone not named JJ Watt or Whitney Mercilus.

Hey guys - This pick is up for grabs. Raiders have a lot of needs and not that many picks. Future years are fine too. Let me know. I'll wait an hour or so for messages before I post my pick.

I have a trade with ElCab. Pick 67 for 87/163/193.

This draft is deep enough and we have so many needs that the extra picks are worth more to me. Plus I have similar grades for a few guys we wanted to look at.

The Chiefs trade up and select OL Billy Turner from ND State. KC needs to add depth to their OL badly and Turner presents good upside at this point in the draft. He lined up at LT in college, but is projected to either move to RT or, most likely, inside to G. Needs to work on technique, but I'll let Andy the coaching staff handle that.

The Falcons finished 32nd in passing DVOA last year, which is bad because there are only 32 teams. Certainly the anemic pass rush is a major factor - hopefully tabbing Khalil Mack in the first helps that. Atlanta added Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford with their first two picks last year, so I'm going to leave corner alone and let those guys develop. But with Thomas DeCoud a cap casualty, a spot has opened up at FS. We'll fill that with S Terrence Brooks, Florida State.

Brooks is a versatile player who could play deep centerfield but also spent time in the box in run support or matching up with tight ends and slot receivers in man coverage. He was a productive player on one of the nation's best defenses, and matched his on-field production with a terrific combine (among the position leaders in the 40 - 4.42 and jumping drills). He's aggressive and can contribute on special teams.

Sorry y'all, I thought I pulled out after round 2. I'm on vacation. If someone can take over the Bucs and Bills, I'd appreciate it.

If not, it'll take me some time to catch up and do a bit of research

I'll do the pick around 11pm, and for the other picks, I'll pm someone a list and they can pick the highest available player remaining. Anyone up for it?

With pick #69 the Bucs select WR Martavis Bryant - Clemson. Obviously the Bucs need help opposite Vincent Jackson, and Bryant fits the bill, big target at 6'4" 211. I could have selected a WR in the first round, but this draft is insanely deep at WR, and I wanted to make sure I got one of TBW or Bortles.

I think Bryant would be a first round pick next season if he had stayed. He's a burner (4.42) with great hands. His biggest problem was lack of focus, which obviously is a problem with a guy like Watkins getting a ton of targets. I think he'll improve there, and add some meat to his bones as well.

Also, while I enjoy the narratives, could folks please bold the pick and include the pick # at the start of their selections? It's hard to follow along without those two things.

Also, the Bills and Packers agreed to fix their trade and switch picks #85 and #98 so that the comp pick isn't traded.

Bills will have #85 and Packers will have(keep) #98
