hello! so i’ve been reading the forum on an app on my iphone for a while, so long i can’t remember when or from where i downloaded the app. recently the app stopped uploading new data, so i deleted it in order to reinstall, hoping that would do the trick. but i can’t find the app anywhere: tried the app store, a general google search, and the tapatalk site. any suggestions on how to get the app back on my iphone? thx!

It really hasn’t been supported for years. It may have worked for some people, but that was out of luck. Tapatalk essentially stopped supporting our type of setup.

I found the same thing happened, and it was as of last Sunday 7/11. What is the best way of reading the forum on an iPhone in the absence of the app? I have Googled it and then logged in. That is cumbersome, but is that the only way?

I reinstalled and it works….kinda. If you read this and are using tapatalk, add a SoSH web page icon to your phone instead. In the next few months there is a new version being installed that can even do web based push notifications, etc. tapatalk is a pile of crap

If you open the website in safari on your iPhone, then tap the little square with an arrow symbol at the bottom of the screen, then tap “add to Home Screen” it will create an icon on your home screen that will function just like an app. It actually works much, much better than the Tapatalk app ever did.

I am unable to articulate how awful tapatalk was/is. Imagine an app made after 2010 that had the functionality of geocities. It got so bad at one point (literally could never get a support ticket responded to) that I upgraded to the Uber plan thinking that would help. It didn’t. So I said fuck it and just blocked it on my credit card. Alas, they still haven’t figured out that we haven’t paid in like 4 years.
