This fight went exactly how i thought it would. Once lee started responding and let him know what he was dealing with, quillin froze up for fear of losing that 0. Lee's boxing down the stretch impressed me thoughMarciano490 said:Split draw. Crazy thing is that second KO by Quillin shouldn't have counted because he stepped on Lee's foot. That extra point made the decision.
Thank you. I'm a big Peterson fan and picked him to win, so I was afraid I was being biased, but I almost choked when I saw Farhood gave him the first 4 rounds. Peterson won that fight 8-4. At worst. He dominated, and Garcia's vaunted power had no effect on him. I normally hate the "face" test, but that told the story last night. I hope they rematch in Vegas with good judges and knowledgeable fans.ElUno20 said:Danny Garcia did not win that fight.
Lamont Peterson used the first 4 rounds to make a monkey out of Danny and did so in excellent fashion. He then proceeded to punish Danny boy for the last 6 rounds or so.
I dont know how danny has become the chosen one but he is. Sad, sad, sad.
I have my doubts they will fight again since both want to be at 147 for their next fight. Peterson, without a doubt, can handle 147 size wise but no way Danny can. Haymon knows this so putting him in at 147 in a rematch where peterson doesnt have to strain to make weight would be too risky. Especially considering the ass kicking he just got.Marciano490 said:Thank you. I threw that in about quillin because i was piling on him earlier. Overall, he fought pretty scared after he got caught and completely ran out of gas the last 3 rounds. The only thing I'll give him credit for is surviving, i guess.

But it wont matter. Oscar isn't stupid. He's a action fighter who CAN box so he'll be match with sluggers from here on out that he can pick apart.
The cotto fight though, i dont know. Im 50-50 on that one. I can see a case for both guys winning. I guess thats why its such an anticipated fight
He is a knockout artist who has been matched perfectly his entire career. However, in his last fight against Stiverne he showed some real ring iq and skills against his first legit test.southshoresoxfan said:Very casual boxing fan here. Is Deontay Wilder worth being excited about? 33-0 32KOs American WBC HW champ and not a ton of buzz amongst fans like myself.
Any big fights for him looming worth watching?
Nobody likes getting hit in the face by a grown man.theapportioner said:Given how easily he dispatched Monroe in the 6th, I can't help but think that GGG allowed himself to take some of those wide open shots in the 4th and 5th rounds.
Doesn't Cotto have to fight him after Geale or vacate? I don't know why he wouldn't try to unify before doing anything.Marciano490 said:Good for Max for asking him about moving up. He can't keep fighting these nobodies. If Cotto won't fight him he needs to go up a class. That's what you do when you clean out a division. This talk of Canelo moving up is silly.
ElUno20 said:Absolute jokes of scorecards turned in by the two judges who had tonight's fight 117-111. Those type of scores make me hate boxing.
Khan as usual gets unreal, dumbfounding credit for throwing flashy combinations as opposed to punches that land and do damage. He spent the whole fight on the back foot being bullied and beatdown and now his coward ass is going to seriously campaign for a floyd fight. I hate khan
Geale has obviously been picked out as an opponent that will potentially make Cotto look good. If Cotto was serious about wanting to prove something to fans, he would have taken on a dangerous opponent like Gennady Golovkin or Tureano Johnson. But in selecting the light-hitting Geale, who was knocked out in just three rounds a year ago against Golovkin, he’s betting that he can get him out of there in an impressive fashion to wow the casual boxing fans, many of which would have no clue that Geale has lost 2 out of his last 4 fights, and isn’t in the same league as guys like Golovkin. The casual fans will assume that Cotto has really accomplished something in beating Geale rather than them knowing that he chose Geale to fight rather than Golovkin.
