Manny has been on the short end of two of the worst decisions ever. 3 actually. Forgot that Long Island Italian dude.

Thurman happiest I’ve ever seen a losing fighter, but he did just marry one of the most beautiful women on earth, so I guess he’s still a winner tonight.

Dadashev didn't make it.

I enjoy watching combat sports, always have. I've mentioned it before, but my dad did a little amateur boxing when he was young and his stories started my fascination with them. Every time I see a story like this I think about what could be done to make things safer, and then I shrug and go back to watching. As much as there is a problem, I think I'm part of it.

Kellerman makes some good points in his video about it being a style of fight where it's particularly hard to know where it's necessary to stop it, because it's an accumulation of hits rather than one big overpowering knock-down in the 2nd round. (boxing is the one sport Kellerman actually knows something about and isn't talking out of his ass, right?)

A real tragedy for this guy. I hope they give his wife and kid the green card that he was fighting for.

No. Kellerman is trash at boxing too. The absolute worst. He killed boxing on HBO.

Which of his sexist, homophobic or anti-Semitic comments leads you to think that?
I don't know anything about that. The handful of times I've seen him I've gotten the impression that he seems more interested in giving respect than being concerned about how much he gets.

Last night I liked how he tried to honor Mexican fighters and boxing culture in his own flamboyant way, and in a way that fans accepted and seemed to appreciate. And after the fight, the way he spoke about his opponent and his opponent's father, even though during the fight there was an incident that was fairly unsporting, when his opponent raked his hand over that potentially fight-ending cut at the end of a round, trying to bust it open.

Disappointed to hear about the other comments.

Were these things he’s said recently or while he was in the throes of addiction? Maybe in cocaine veritas, but I’m willing to give a pass to a man who seems to have redeemed himself in many ways.

Ha, he’s not wrong but it’s worked for him. Porter is putting together a decent resume.

Also, Canelo v Kovalev should be exciting for 7 rounds or so until Sergei’s wind dooms him again.
I'm strangely...looking forward to both fights.

Canelo i dont know what the hell he's doing. I half expect him at heavyweight next year

Yeah without a doubt. That's the key though. Some guys dont defy the rules of the game.

However, i do like Buddy Mcgirt's chances at focusing him enough to put a scare into Canelo for about 5-6 rounds

Agreed. Like I said, it’ll be a great first half of a fight.

Kovalev was one of my favorites before that sex assault shit, so I’ll be happy to see Saul chop him down.

How’d you score it? I didn’t end up watching.

Given his background as a Irish traveller, I'm guessing his backwards views don't have much to do with the drugs.

Sorry. Sosh notifications are strangely timed for some reason. Anyway...

I had it 8-4 porter on just rounds. With a knockdown that pushes to what like 7-5.

But i could see an initial 7-5 porter with the knockdown evening the fight out.

I just cant see the case for Spence winning 6 rounds. He got the fight taken to him and for the first time, I'd favor Crawford over him.

But it was a good fight, ill poke around for a link later tonight. Definitely worth a watch

Also, random thought, Andre Ward will be back next year. Canelo and GGG have no one to fight, DAZN has a lot of money. Makes too much sense.

Controversial decision upcoming in the GGG fight. Had a first round knockdown, but seems to have lost 6 or 7 of the 10 rounds since. Would be a Career altering loss for sure.

I could see 6-6 or 7-5 either way. Really fun fight. G looked like shit though. Had very little pop on his punches.

I did give him the 1st and probably 10-12 or 11-11, where he finally looked locked in but had no gas left. Fun fight though. Two great fights back to back weeks.
