This is a bullshit fight and why i hate top rank. All they do is schedule mismatches and hoard titles once their fighters get them.

Crawford is way too easy to hit and has no power at welterweight. He'd be smart to never fight Spence.

That knockout came after 12 rounds of hitting Benavidez, not a real WW, clean and he barely got him out.

I like Crawford but he'll get destroyed by Spence. I'd even favor Porter over him

Crawford's been known to toy with opponents for a while before finishing them off. Not really sure that isn't what he did tonight. Here's a pretty long article about him, really interesting read for those that are into this kind of thing:

And here is one on Benavides:

I don't think Fury looks too bad, but the beard hide some things.

I watched the press conference from yesterday. Wilder brought race into it out of nowhere. It was a bid odd.

I just watched Wilder's last fight. He's a very entertaining fighter. What I'm not getting is why he's playing relatively smaller venues and Joshua is filling stadiums.

National pride? UK gets behind its fighters more than we do here.

Also, Joshua was a fun fighter to watch for awhile but has regressed.

Initially, I liked Fury tonight, but after watching him a bit more, he’s got a bit of a weak loopy jab, and he seems to like to fight inside more than use his length. He’s slippery as hell, and has great footwork for a heavyweight, but I don’t know that he has the discipline or modesty to avoid Wilder’s power for 36 minutes.

I think this is at least a fight too early for Fury. His last couple of fights were essentially paid sparring. A big step up in class tonight.

Has Wilder sort gone under the radar as a money fighter? Over here, the talk tended to be, good fighter, explosive puncher...but that he hasn't really fought anyone.

The hasn’t fought anyone thing is usually a canard in boxing nowadays because there really isn’t anyone, especially in the heavyweight division. There isn’t a Lyle, Frazier, Foreman and Shavers out there for him to beat.

He’s very amateurish. Wide looping punches, not great defense. It makes him fun to watch, but I think most purists have seen him as a sideshow. I’m not sure why the public hasn’t embraced an American heavyweight who is good on the mic. He beat Ortiz, who is good, but old, and frankly Ortiz might’ve had him if not for some shenanigans with the start of the round after Wilder went down.

Yeah, i noticed that, i think it was at the start of the 8th round. The ref gave him a wee breather.

D'you think he beats Joshua? I think it's the glamour fight in a division where there's slim pickins in that department. I guess the Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis era was the last time the heavyweight division was exciting.

The sloppy critique of Wilder always gets me. He started at 20. Of course he's not going to look like Loma. For my money, he's in the top 5 pure athletes in the sport with devastating power to boot. So I'll watch him any day of the week.

And ortiz had almost 2 minutes of that round, with Wilder not holding, to get him out. That L is on him.

What are you guys putting money on tonight? I threw a few bucks at old man Stevenson at +150 even though this feels like his funeral.

I wouldnt count on them fighting. Anyone on DAZN network is probably not fighting anyone who isnt signed there long term.

I think he obliterates Joshua. Joshua is pretty meh. Old ass Klitschko almost had him. Wilder probably does serious damage to him. As would Ortiz or Fury.

Not implausbile, but damn he’s coming in light.
I know but, like i said before i just think this is a fight too early for Fury. Too big a step up in class...i'm not sure he'll be up to Wilder's pace and energy. And i wasn't impressed with Fury's ring walk. And I loved Wilder's - love his outfit. I'd love to rock that shit.

The thing to remember is Wilder puts a lot of energy into his punches. Fury is very relaxed. Wilder is no doubt in better shape, but the extra oomph may even things out. Fury has been working out hard for a couple years straight.

who are the refs for this? Any chance we get anything resembling a reasonable decision?
I have no idea how to score this.

Wilder is so light, Fury is able to check him with his gloves and forearms and keep him out of position.

Fury needs to keep his jab going. I can see Wilder upping his work rate soon, and going for it. Fury seems to be defending well.

Like I said, throw low off that right hand.

How was Wilder gassed though? Hasn’t punched all night.

Fury has been twice as active, especially with the feints and head movement, but has much more gas.

I'm surprised. For a big guy he can move. And he's not tiring so far.
He’s just so relaxed. Barely expends any energy even with all that movement. And he’s a very, very good boxer. Best boxer at pure heavyweight since Ali maybe. Just ironically doesn’t have the power.
