Can you explain? Do you mean that Paul is looking off into space and any real boxer there would have ended the fight right then, but Mike instead pulls his punch entirely? Or is there something more you see that someone who's never boxed can't see?
Tyson is in the midst of throwing a two punch combination (jab/cross) for which Paul is utterly open and then he pulls up on the right hand for some reason. Usually it’d be because there’s a counter coming or Paul moved, but that wasn’t the case here. Maybe Tyson just got gunshy but it’s odd.

Yeah, that was one of the clips I saw, but I wanted to see what others thought without posting. I mean, there are tons, and some of them you could imagine there was something—it's not hard to believe that Tyson is holding back, not following through—but there's a strong burden of proof issue since there was inevitably going to be this kind of bullshit. Also, I don't know how these things work, but can the money actually be withheld after the fight?

But that particular clip was... not something that I felt like I could explain. Which brought me here. :)

It is really weird. Obviously I was heavy on Tyson winning and this might just be confirmation bias - though I’ll say he really didn’t look like he had the legs to close on Paul it keep pressure on him - but that’s a hell of an unnatural motion. You have to really put a halt on your muscles and their memory to pull off that punch. He’s already stepped over and transferred half his weight and then just aborts the right hand in response to…nothing?

I’ve seen several examples of this throughout the fight. Anyone who thinks that this was on the level is naive.

With Bivol Beterbiev 2 being set, i have to go rewatch 1. I felt it was close but AB was nearing some real damage if it went on longer. I was of the mind that he'd chop him down in the rematch but my brother said the opposite and feels the 2nd time around Bivol will have a way better feel for his power.

Where do you go for old fights? I realized I never saw the first one. Think I was traveling.

Valdez's uneven career finally got squashed last night.

Also, i didnt realize fury usyk 2 is in 2 weeks. I could have sworn it was pushed back. I think fury fights just a little smarter and pulls out a W.

If Fury loses that means no Fury-Usyk 3. Fury on points is like free money. Now, the third fight.. THAT should be fun.

Fury is expected to come in heavier for this fight and he’s currently a +120 dog after being saved by the refs standing 8 count in the first fight. If he does come in bigger and throws volume early I can see a similar turn of events in the middle rounds with Usyk being able to carry the pace late and possibly even finish. You cannot dismiss the judges scorecards with so much at stake but Fury has to get to the cards first. Usyk’s late finish R7-12 is where the betting value is preflight at +540 last I saw. His live price was as high as +950 in the first fight and Fury’s gas tank should be fairly easy to monitor as the fight goes along. I doubt we get that same number but a larger and one year older Fury who begins to slow down in the middle rounds is extremely vulnerable to get finished.

I can see what a Usyk win looks like. What about a Fury win…..get ahead early, hang on for dear life and have the judges ensure we see a trilogy?

I was thinking about the rematch yesterday. Throughout Fury's career it's been pretty clear he "gets up" for fights. He needs something other than the purse to really perform at his highest. He needs heat, adversity, shit talking, etc. He isn't a regular professional who can be expected to perform the same every time.

This fight has none of the stuff to get him juiced up. It kind of snuck up on everyone. I have my doubts he performs as well as fight 1 for this. I think Usyk works him bad.

Paul’s next gimmick fight…Conor McGregor. The payouts must be insane.
Sure, and it also seems like he’s kinda scared to go back into the Octagon to lose again. This at least gives him another pay day before he potentially sinks his MMA career. If he loses against Jake…well, other MMA fighters have lost these exhibition boxing matches as well, so I’m not sure that expectations are that high to begin with.

Yup. MMA feels like a sport where it’s incredibly difficult to leave and come back and be elite. These guys train so hard that if you’re off partying, doing movies, drugs, etc., good luck beating anyone half decent.

For Paul, it would be far more interesting to see him try MMA and fight Conor in his own sport. But of course he keeps getting absurd pay days to fight people who can’t beat him so why change?

It’s Logan. I guess Jake is out of his league.

Here’s an insane thing to type out. Logan is the one who fought Mayweather and Jake is the one who fought Tyson.

Wait until the day you are writing that they are fighting each other. Seriously though (wait, I was being serious), for Logan/Connor to be a go they will have to get around the weight differential which has to be 40-50 lbs. Maybe by billing it as an “exhibition?”

I was surprised that the fury usyk 2 ppv is only $40. I might not steal this fight.

Is there any word on the time theyre expected to ring walk?

I personally wouldn't pay to watch either one. I did watch the Tyson fight out of morbid curiosity. I got duped into thinking Mike would legitimately try to knock Jake Paul's head off.

But, as far as I can tell, Jake and Logan's biggest crime is being good at taking advantage of people's inability to resist a sideshow. PT Barnum would be proud.

It annoys me way more that people continue to fill the pockets of an overrated scumbag like Mcgregor

Every time Fury gets knocked down he comes back 40 pounds heavier. Smart. Worked against Wilder. Usyk is gonna have to stay busy and try to score a lot on the inside en route to a decision.

Yup. Tried and true technique to come in 2 weight classes above his opponent and then everyone kisses his ass about how great he is.

Anyone else feel that Allen got robbed on that split decision as the +950 underdog? He won rounds 5 through 10 fairly convincingly.

There are already shenanigans going on in this matchup and weird stuff now with Fury’s weight and how much that affects his cardio, his trunks up to his throat, big motivation for a trilogy. The only token pizza bet I made was Fury gets knocked down and wins at +1000. Other than that….let’s get it on!!

Fury R3 up 2-1 on my card. Surprised Joshua would score R2 to Fury he connected on one good shot otherwise Usyk led entire way.

I wonder what would happen if Fury started turning over his punches and trying to actually better Usyk.
