There has been one consistency about the Red Sox since JWH and company took over in 2002 - feast or famine.

Was Chaim Bloom a mistake? I have to believe there are people at FSG asking the same question. JWH has not been hands-on with the Red Sox since June 27, 2009 and he gave the keys to Tom Werner. I think most of us will agree that 2022 is a lost season but somebody has to walk the plank.

I am very concerned.

What would lead you to believe that Chaim Bloom has been a mistake? I think he’s done a brilliant job under the parameters he’s been given to work.

Chaim takes his orders from ownership. It’s pretty obvious that he was mandated to trim payroll while rehabbing the farm system. To that end, he’s done an outstanding job.

Chaim doesn’t trade Mookie Betts without ownership’s, not only consent, but their direction. Chaim doesn’t single handedly decide to let Xander or Devers leave.

There was always going to be some pain as they pared down the payroll. The bullpen and rotation have been abject disasters. My gut tells me that Chaim subscribes to the TB mindset of devalued starters and having a strong group of pitchers over defined roles. This year, almost none of it has worked.

This team is heavily flawed. They still have a crack at making the playoffs, but IMO, I wouldn’t sink any further resources into this roster. They’ve shown that they cannot compete with New York, Tampa, and Toronto.

The bolded has to be one of the more disgusting and idiotic notions I've seen posted on the main board. What the fuck is wrong with you?

Have to agree with this. Chaim came in during a rough time for the club and has overachieved in what he accomplished last year. I dont think they expected a playoff team last year. We need a reset and I think it will come now after this weekend of results. Need to decide what pieces we keep going forward and build around. He will more than likely shop out vets for wildcards

Devers, Story,Houck, Pivetta, Whitlock,Verdugo, Duran will be the current roster pieces I can see us going forward with to the next potential WS red sox team. Throw in promotion for Mayer, Casas and Bello. This will form part of the core going forward

What happened on 6/27/2009? Tim Wakefield was going up against Atlanta.

Disgusting suggests something vile and non baseball related.

If you want to bring up about Henry being distracted because of his purchases of other teams/sports groups be our guest. But your premise here is pure bullshit unless we're all reading the implications of the date you posted incorrectly. If you meant something else entirely send me the information in a PM. Until then this thread is locked. I'll reopen if necessary.
