Anyone canceling their ticket packages this year? We had already decided not to renew but boy am I glad we didn't.

I renewed but I gotta admit, I'm starting to think that $5k a year might be better spent elsewhere. And the ride in from Tewksbury on a Thursday night seems like way more of a pain in the ass today then it seemed last week.

We had renewed but this Rinaldo thing is really hard for me to take. Even if nothing had happened Fri/Sat and it was just the Rinaldo thing. I just don't know. He shouldn't be in the league. Full stop. And the Bruins gave up an asset for him and are going to play him over any number of the kids who at least might be able to score a goal now and then and not put someone in the hospital.

I just hope there are a lot of randoms who want to go to games because I can see the ticket swap being heavily used.

And for damn sure I'm selling my winter classic tickets to the highest bidder. I hope it's full of Habs fans.

I canceled mine. Only a 10 game pack, but I'm not paying for this dumpster fire.

Re-upped but wondering if I can bail and get a refund of what payments (2 I think?) have been made.

Winter Classic tix for a sack of toonies is a must at this point.

This could be my last year having tickets. Prices have gone up. The talent has gone down. Tougher to sell some of my games as well.

QO's are due today to retain RFA's rights. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous that they might pull a Dale Tallon and not get them in.

I want off this ride.  This is the AJ Pierzynski moment for this Bruins team.  I could never get into that Sox team with such an unlike-able prick on it.  I fear the same with will happen with Zac.  There are only a few other players I could say that about (Cooke, Torres, Scott is all I could come up with).  Well has been poisoned.

Burrows, Kaleta, and Lapierre are my list, along with Cooke and Torres. Honestly, I never thought about Rinaldo or Scott because they were so bad I never in a million years thought they'd end up on the Bruins.

I missed Kaleta but absolutely him.  I wouldn't be happy about getting Burrows or Lapierre but I would put them a step below the others where I think I could ignore them.

No mention of Connolly...

98.5 is saying Talbot requested a trade. Haha!

Edit: 98.5 is citing Hockeybuzz so grain of salt on that one.

Tried to cancel my season tickets after they fired Chia, it was far too late though

A lingering issue between Talbot and Rinaldo in Philly maybe?

Edit: For what it's worth, I'd rather Talbot on this roster 10 times out of 10 over Rinaldo and twice on Sunday, Lt. Weinberg.

Ive never been to that sth q&a thing they do with cam and ds but I'm awful tempted to try to go this year. Do they screen the questions or do you just kind of go to a mic and ask?

Perhaps Sweeney is secretly a genius and playing the long game. With expansion coming up you are going to lose players. Better to stock the bottom of the roster with jags and protect the kids instead of exposing them. Would also explain why they used so many draft picks, you have to assume anyone still on elc will be protected from expansion.

I'm hoping this is the answer and not that the fo thinks it is 1995.

Why do I have a feeling that most of the next year will be done in "(horrible thing) is what's next" format.  I'm ok with that.  Its inappropriately absurd, as is this team.

Next up is we'll hear of trade talks with Chicago. Everyone will start dreaming of Seabrook, be OK with Sharp and find acceptable if it is Bickell, but it will be Carcillo walking through the door.

No, but I'm a stated masochist so the pain will make me feel more alive.

At least, that is what I'm telling myself.

The best is they're going to trade Talbot and retain half his salary for like a conditional 6th.

Is that even allowed? Colorado is already retaining half, can the new team get him for a quarter of his salary?

I was just thinking back to when Homer dismantled the Flyers with a bunch of moves that seemed, on their face, to be exciting/pretty good value/youth-and-skill focused and how it got them nowhere. So, I dunno, don't judge a book by its cover and horrible no good very bad first few chapters? Grasping here, because I don't see any way we look back at this offseason and realize it didn't suck (short of draft pick contributions which are years down the road).

I'm not sure. I'm just setting myself up for the inevitable dump of Talbot, the better player, for less than what they paid for Rinaldo.

Sigh.

So I guess the better question is what do we do, as fans? I know everyone's talking about bailing on their season tickets/10-game packs, but are we the majority or a vocal minority?

I ask because the last thing I want to be accused of being is a fairweather fan, but I don't know if I can invest in this team at all next season. Cam, Don, and Scott Bradley all need to go, and they need to go now.

The way the last 96 hours have gone, it's been such an assault of stupid and misguided philosophy that I can't really muster the anger I did in the aftermath of Friday. I just want it to stop.

This is where I'm at. I watched through 2005, I watched through 2010, I watched back in the late 90s before I knew any better. There was never a question I was a Bruins fan.

After acquiring Rinaldo on top of everything else, I'm having a really tough time internally justifying even rooting for this team. I know I will in the end, because it's hard to overcome 30+ years of habit, but I've lost any desire to attend games and am almost wishing this just implodes spectacularly so that changes are made. Almost.

I'll be watching a lot of late night Flames games though that's for sure.

Yeah, I'll watch. And I know a lot of older fans sat through a lot more lean years than I ever did. But it's not really about winning and losing when it comes to Rinaldo. He's an awful player and a good and the type of guy who should be stuck talking about the good old days in the nhl and getting thrown out of beer league games when he gets frustrated. I'm pissed that he's on the team I root for.

Sigh. This sucks.

It's a glorified pep rally now. They used to take real questions a few years ago but now they seek out the kids and girls looking for autographs. I stopped going a few years back.

And yes I'll watch. I'm about 75 % sure I'm dumping my tickets after this year but it has more to do with my schedule these days then the team. This just adds to the list of reasons to not drive into the city 20-30 times every winter after work. I watched every game through some pretty lean years so I doubt I'll stop now.

If you go by the comments on the Bruins twitter feed I'd say we are clearly in the majority.

I'm glad that people are confirming that, because it's necessary right now, yea know?

Can't give ownership the warm and fuzzies that 90%+ of Bruins fans are smashing the panic button right now.

Because the only prayer this team has is that this draft is a success.

I'm going to wait until the pre season starts before I pass final judgement on the watchability of the team. Obviously chapter one, two and three of the off season have been bad. I'll wait to see what other shoe falls.

I'm not ready to quit yet. I've been with this team pretty much the entire way since I was 5, but it's depressing as fuck if they're taking a step back after the best run of success in 30 years.

I mean, that would be such a Bruins thing to do: get a guy in a trade that gives you some major flexibility, then non-tender him.

If that happens, can we get Bettman to intervene on the Bruins' behalf?

The frustrating thing for me is that we have no idea what Cam and Don's plans are. It's like every move counters the previous moves. For instance:

- The plan can't be to win this year, since they traded 2 huge roster pieces for futures. The roster is significantly worse today than it was last Friday morning.
- They didn't blow it up to get younger because they got older.
- it can't be to get young and skilled because they traded a young and skilled player while bringing back (and in) slow McQuaid and useless Rinaldo.
- If it is grit and toughness they are after, then why did they trade Lucic.
- It wasn't to clear salary cap space since they are in essentially the same spot they were in before Friday.

When combined together, the transactions don't seem to be working in concert in any sort of plan. That's what's alarming to me. It looks like there is no plan. Maybe there is another shoe to drop out there, who knows.

I would say that they are not in the same spot they were in before Friday, in that the salary commitments are about the same but they don't have an unsigned Hamilton - who would have commanded half or more of their available cap room.

I hope they are focused on a rebuild and think this move was the best way to go about it. (I don't agree, but at least it would be a coherent strategy).

I fear that they have actually convinced themselves that they can compete now and that these moves are the best way to achieve that.

This is the roster we have today. If they think this is good enough to compete for the Cup, then God help us all:

Eriksson - Krejci - Connolly
Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Kelly - Spooner - Smith
Talbot - Kempainen - Rinaldo

Chara - C. Miller
Krug - Seidenberg
Morrow - McQuaid

Rask
Jones

I mean, Rask, Chara and Bergy are too good for a complete bottoming out, but that is not a team that is close to competing for a championship. They have to see that, right!?!

I can't believe they've managed to make their fourth line worse.
