The pure jubilation of the Kearse catch is even more painful with the utter silence & disbelief of the Butler INT (starts at around 8:10 mark).
This is a good one. I don't know why, but I take particular pleasure in the reaction of the guy in the Baldwin jersey at the front of the group. I found him to be incredibly irritating throughout the video and his emotional pain makes me happy.

Found this fantastic video of last 3 minutes on another Pats site. It's taken from the stands down near the goaline on the side where Browner and Butler line up on the INT. What really comes through for me is how how cool and collected Brady is, making great decisions all the way down the field. He makes running a legendary drive, to win the Superbowl, look so damn easy.

I find the chanting of 'beast' - 'mode' almost as lame as the 12th man thing, maybe because both are 'borrowed' phrases.

For those in the stadium, on tv, there is a huge roar on tv when Vinovich begins announcing the unsportsmanlike penalty on the Butler pick. Was that Seahawks fans thinking the play was about to be reversed, not realizing it was deadball, or Patriots fans who thought it might be reversed and were relieved? Sounds on tv like the former. Just makes me realize those in the stadium didn't have Michaels saying it was for celebration, who just nipoticed the flag after the play.

I thought the roar happened when Vinovich said that the interception had been confirmed, and was thus Patriots fans roaring that they had pretty much just wrapped up the Super Bowl.

I think there were multiple roars.  I do remember one right after the penalty was called.  Sort of as a "roar of relief" that nothing bad had come out of the fight and the ball was moving even further away from the goal line.

If you didn't catch Shane Vereen on NFLN yesterday, the guy does very well in front of a camera and behind a mike. Well, what would you expect from a Cal guy. Just Wiki'd and says he graduated from Valencia HS with a 4.0 grade point average, and graduated fronm Cal in December 2010 in three and a half years with a degree in Media Studies. He could probably replace those two jamulkes on the show with him right now if he didn't have more NFL years to go. I hope he comes back to the Pats next year.

Edit, he was actually on for ~ 40 minutes, including commercials, so the clip above is a shorty version.

I forget exactly how the Ref started the announcement on the celebration penalty, but I roared loudly when it was announced and the interception was confirmed, so I think that was from Pats fans. I assumed the worst and had a minor stroke when I first saw the flag thrown in the air, but the neutral fan next to me assured me it was for the celebration (God bless, him).

And yes - another huge roar on the encroachment penalty, because that definitely ended it.

This is something that baffles me.  I'm sure they're out there, but for the life of me I can't recall seeing a single Seahawks fan in a retro jersey.  I mean, they have enough history: Krieg, Warner, Largent, etc.  Hell, not even a single Bosworth jersey worn ironically (which you'd think would totally happen in Seattle of all places).  I know a number of true, diehard Seahawks fans, so I don't like to indict their entire fanbase.  But it's just... weird.

The SB party I was at saw people wearing both a retro Flutie #2 jersey (from his stint starting in '88) and a retro Slade jersey from the 90s.

I grabbed it in 1080p (although for some reason it looks grainy from time to time); I can't put it on Vimeo as it is 1.2GB, does Dailymotion take such large vids?

I have seen lots of Seahawks fans in Largent jerseys. Also every Seahawk game I've been to I go to the same bar beforehand and there's always the same guy there wearing a Kenny Easley jersey.

I can't say this enough to enough people, but this angle once again reinforces how stellar Butler was on that drive. I mean, three legit "holy shit are you sure this guy was an UDFA?" plays, and all on very different kinds of plays. At 2:25, running step for step with the WR with an extra burst to make a play on the ball. At 3:00 once again stride for stride, plus the head turn, plus the great athleticism to once again play the ball. And, of course, magic at 3:40.

That's as good as it gets from a guy they were very clearly trying to pick on. I've been trying to temper my enthusiasm for his future. He might have had the freshest legs on the field, and we've all seen guys show something in small spurts. But that defense was legendary, not just the old Sterling Moore "miraculously knock the ball out after getting cleanly beat" move.

Random observation, Marshawn Lynch is on the field during that scrum. Why? It looks like maybe he ran out to help break things up? Is that normal for players on the sidelines to run in like that? There is also a dude with no pads that runs in there but at least was smart enough to put a helmet on.

at 9:06, it looks like he thinks he sees something too... I don't know if he then just notices the flag, but he's walking toward the TV and pointing for about two seconds before realizing whatever he thought it was, was wrong.

One of the plays that's pretty cool on this video is the first Gronk catch of the winning drive.  You hear BB and other football people talk about "leverage" all the time, and some times it seems a bit abstract, but you really get a sense of what it means here.

Looks like at least 7 Seahawks ran on to the field from the sideline for the fight, and not a single Patriot left the other sideline.

It's the mark of of a great and talented, but front running team. As much as the NFL championship was a huge comeback it really felt like GB gave it away more than Seattle took it. I think they weren't prepared for the resilience of NE. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if that blow to their aura of invulnerability is what sets them to unravel a bit. They seemed like the team of destiny one play before and then it was plucked away. I have a hunch that they take a small step back next year. Small ...

The second part of Olbermann's take the day after the game was pretty lame, but it started off in spectacular fashion. At around the 1:05 mark comes a montage his staff put together interspersing Carroll's incomprehensible explanations of the final play call with the ditzy air-headed awesomeness of Miss South Carolina:

Having just now finished the vimeo Pats season in review, I have two thoughts:

1) Even before the whole DeflateGate nonsense, it is remarkable the degree of hate so many in the NFL media have for the Patriots, as well as the giddy joy they took in watching what they foolishly, short-sightedly assumed was the demise of TB12 and Co. It's really pretty amazing.

2) In the midst of all this happy happy joy joy re: the Super Bowl win, the legacies of BB and Brady and Kraft, the fourth ring and of course the dramatic way they earned it, the Malcolm Butler of it all, the Gronk and Incredelman, it's easy to lose a little of the fire when it comes to the steaming pile of horseshit that is, still, DeflateGate. The idiot NFL commentators, fueled by jealousy and spitting rage. The red-faced chimings in of the truly clueless like Mika on MSNBC. The rush to judgment of a breathtaking percentage of the national media. It's just...God...infuriating. It's appalling.

I know not much good can happen to change any of that at this point, but I find myself reignited and so so thrilled by this win because, well, SCREW YOU. Every single sanctimonious one of you, who don't know what you're talking about and don't much care.

Oh, and have we talked about Kurt Warner having to walk the gauntlet to present us with the trophy, forced to wear that shit-eating grin throughout an interminably long walk? That is an underrated viewing party in and of itself. HA HA, Kurt and the whole stinking lot of you - WE WON. Deal with it.

Keith, you realize citing this example actually provides a rationale for the Seahawks to do what they did in the Super Bowl?

Looks like a Seattle radio station does an Opponents' Audio radio recap after each game, and they suck it up and put together the one for the Super Bowl. The money shot is the last minute or so of them reacting to it afterwards. Zo's call really got in their heads (understandably and hilariously).

Yeah, most of it is just the NE play-by-play, but the last minute where the Seattle announcer just flat loses his mind is spectacular.  He was fully prepared to murder a fellow human being by the end of listening to those radio calls.  Could easily be "the nation's tears".  Great find, ragnarok.

The New England Patriots' victory in Super Bowl XLIX has sparked hometown celebrations for a variety of the team's players. One such example is with special-teams standout Nate Ebner, who was honored at his alma mater, Davidson High School, in central Ohio.

"It's not even a week in so I'm still trying to get a grasp on it, but it's amazing," Ebner said, according to the Hilliard Northwest News. "I'll catch myself driving down the road thinking about it and I'll just start smiling. You just work so hard all year and it's just a testament to hard work paying off."

Ebner drove 12 hours for "Nate Ebner Night."

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4778088/special-teams-standout-nate-ebner-gets-hometown-celebration?ex_cid=espnapi_public

I love the idea that Ebner drove 12 hours to attend this.
