Yep, I was pretty sure that was footage for the next Nationwide commercial.

I pretty much did the same thing at that moment with my kid who's about the same age -- I forgot that he was a living thing and not a rag doll

Yes, it really looked like Butler was tackled by his teammates.  He could have picked up a few more yards had that not happened.  He could have fumbled the ball too, which is why his teammates covered him right up.

I was thinking of this re: Brady, but after what they've all gone through...

If—
BY RUDYARD KIPLING

If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
    And—which is more—you’ll be a New England Patriot, my son!

Having kids of my own, I imagine one reason Tom is really happy to have won yesterday is that his kids are old enough to remember it.

I'm a sucker for this type of a stuff. A guy who has taken some lumps over the years. I've probably seen him 100 times on the sideline, never smiling. But this is pure ecstasy.

You don't get the ring right after the win man. He's going to have to wait til he gets back to the mansion for the ring ceremony.

Doesnt Brady have 3 kids?

Is Moynahan's kid on the outside looking in? Bummer.

Edit: nevermind. Looks like his daughter is missing g from the picture. Might have been passed her bedtime.

So many likable guys on this team. Very satisfying to know that, whatever the future holds, we'll get to see them time and time again when the Pats bring back the ring bearers for some ceremony or another.

That must be one of the weirdest things about the time after you win: You've got to almost immediately pack your stuff and get on the plane. I'd want to party and sleep in for a week.

True. But on the other hand, they all get back together again on Tuesday for the official parade. So they have time.

I once saw a very drunk, very old former professional scout pound the table and say "Slater was the best LT ever, NO QUESTION" when someone had the temerity to say Bruce Armstrong was a great LT.

So, is there anywhere I can watch the Pats final TD drive? NFL.com has selected highlights, but I'm looking for the whole drive.
