Bellingers last home run was a two homerun game August 12. He hasn't missed any time in between......

Sox win tonight. Jays win tonight. Sox and Yankees tied going into the final three. Jays play the O's and the Yankees play the Rays. Could see the Jays take a WC spot pretty easily. I just wonder how hard the Rays will be playing at that point.

Sox need to win 3 of the last 4.

Isn't there some bad blood between the Rays and MFY, though (he asked, hopefully)? It seems to me that Tampa would love to kick the MFY down the stairs for good this year. Especially since it would dispose of a team that reasonably would be considered more of a threat than Boston or Seattle.

Eh, the Rays owe them a solid from 2011. More relevantly, the Rays are going to be relying on some pretty green rookies in McClanahan and Baz (and an incredible bullpen) to pitch them deep into October. I wouldn't hold my breath hoping they're going to push them (or their bullpen) too hard in Yankee Stadium in meaningless games against a desperate Yankees team they they may have to face in the ALDS anyway. I'm just hoping that the Rays take one this weekend somehow.

The best news is that the Red Sox just need to win. They control their own fate and should keep it that way.

Giants in heaps of trouble in the first. Kazmir getting hit around, gets a popup with 1 out and runners on first and second that the 2B and CF can't catch, CF throws to third instead of second, getting nobody.

Next play is a dribbler to first that Kazmir couldn't beat the runner on, and twisted his ankle, had to be removed.

Wade is basically automatic when hitting in the ninth inning. Its a Vanian sample size but he's sporting a 1400 OPS in the ninth this year.

Should there be a game thread for tonight's NL WC game or should there just be a catchall for non-Red Sox October baseball?
