4-0 to Celtic. One of the most low key Old Firm matches I've ever seen. Nevermind that it was a semi final. Celtic could have won 6-0 quite easily. Right fro the start it felt like Gers werenae up for it. You like to see a few cruching tackles early doors to get the crowd fired up, but it really was one way traffic from the off.

Celtic didn't even play that well.

I feel a bit sorry for some decent Rangers fans I know- not the self-entitled WATP delusional ones

You had Dembele dinking penalties, Roberts doing keepy-uppies, Griffiths doing a seal with the ball on his forehead. A complete piss take. You could have substituted two posters here on for Celtic at HT and they still would have strolled the second half. Clearly, Brendan called off the dogs...there was an easy 7 goals for the taking.

Rangers are in danger of losing an entire generation of young supporters. They showed no fight today, possibly the worst performance I have ever seen in a Rangers-Celtic match. It's one thing to lose but not showing up is a disgrace. They are in trouble..they have a fight on their hands to finish above Hibs. How can they sell season tickets with that shit-show on the park? They rely so heavily on ST money and this certainly won't help. I'm expecting the usual BS press releases about interviewing great candidates for the managers job to try and move the tickets. You can only be so gullible for so long...right?

Don't under estimate Motherwell in the final..they are a physical team and have battering rams for strikers...could easily bloody the noses of a fairly fragile Celtic defence.

Really enjoyed that today-

Dembele was a beast all day and Scotty Brown has played his way into a group of all time Celtic legends.....he was immense again.

Huns will be lucky to finish second

The rumours are that Stevie G is Rangers number 1 target for next boss. Say it aint so. But Steven Gerard is trending in Glasgow on Twitter.

This will end well, an under 18's coach replacing an under 20's coach. Do they ever learn?

Maybe they think Gerard can sabotage Rodgers winning a league title again? Maybe they think a bunch of 'Pool starlets will be loaned out to them?

I knew they had to try something to sell season tickets, maybe this is some plot to try and get the blue coin rolling in.. if he doesn't sign up..they can say..sorry we tried. If he does sign...he's probably gone by November and I can't imagine how large the pay off will be. Good times if you're not a "Sevconian." I think this would be a suicidal move for Gerard...not a risk worth taking...Sevco are a proverbial dumpster fire and broke ( in both senses) .

Seriously, are their fans wanting him? I can imagine the rage when they see him giving Rodgers big hugs and waxing lyrical about what a great coach Rodgers is.

It would suck to root for Gerrard to fail, but... yeah

Thanks, I'll have to check that out, just in time for the Old Firm match tomorrow.

In other news, Ayr United defeated Albion today 2-0 to win the League 1 title, thereby being promoted to the Championship. Very happy for the Honest Men.

Seems like Stevie G has accepted the Gers job. And it looks like the Gers players are playing for the new manager. I expect a big clearout in the summer at Ibrox, so a lot of players hoping to avoid getting their p45's and it shows on the pitch. Celtic are the better side, but Rangers much more up for it than the last Old Firm game.

It's just gone 2-0 to Celtic mind. Edouard with his second goal. Powerful run, goot shot. The commentaror just said of Rangers 'It's not a lack of heart, it's a lack of ability.' Fair point.

I actually think Rangers are worse than the last game. They got a couple of attacks in...but that's it. No idea what the stats are but this is one of the most lopsided games I've seen in a long time. At this point it's up to Cetic if they want to score 5 or just pass the ball around in the second half. Andy Halliday looks completely lost at left back...I'd love Roberts to come on and shred him...having said that...their whole team looks lost... they don't have the stomach for it.

Great game yesterday between Killie and Hibs...5:3. Good advert for Scottish football. Hibs have been playing really welll. It looks like 3rd or 4th for this Rangers team. I'll read up on the Gerrard chatter later...I got up at 3:45 am to watch this arse kicking. He better have a shit ton of money coming with him.

The mirror has a wee bit on it, BBC as well. But nothing from Gerrard or offically from Rangers.

4-0 Now. I'm in Govan and it's quiet as a mouse, but then the Celtic pup is round the corner and i can only see the Rangers pub from my house.

I agree with you re: Hibs v Killie. I'm hopeful for Scottish football. Lack of money meant clubs had to develop from within, locally. So i think there will be more home grown players coming through the ranks.

I wonder what Stevie G is thinking right now.

Rangers' real problem is that Gerrard would be the best player on their current roster. This doesn't change that.

I don’t care for Gerard OR Rangers, so this could be glorious.

All snark aside, it really does feel like a huge gamble by Gerrard, no? I mean, there’s three outcomes here:

A) he oversees the complete revitalization of Rangers, proves he has the mental and emotional mettle to run a big club, and goes on to have a long and successful career as a gaffer, eventually leading Liverpool to the Treble.

B) Rangers putters along for a couple of seasons, stealing a couple of draws from Celtic at best, and Gerrard leaves or gets fired when everyone realizes it’s just not quite working out.

C) He really doesn’t have a clue and he’s fired by December.

Now obviously there’s degrees to these options, but these seem to be his paths...I would have taken it much slower, but maybe that’s partly why he was such a great footballer.

As a reminder, Celtic play Motherwell tomorrow in the Scottish Cup. I think it's at 10.00 am for you east coast fans. You will probably find a HD link on YouTube , but failing that that you can find the game on BBC Scotland website via VPN or DNS.

Normally my excitement would be through the roof for the game, however, there is a royal wedding prior which tops everything . I have my man cave decked out in bunting. I bought the dog a Union Jack bowler hat, we have 3 flags that we can shake as this fairy tale ounfolds on TV beforehand. I'm not sure I'll be able to handle this.

As a Celtic fan...could you ask for more?

I can't find any special Royal Wedding sick bags for this particular royal wedding. But they did em last time in 2011. I think they've held their value an aw.

Pitch looks really good for a change. It suits Celtic’s passing game. Celtic cruising, Motherwell will be lucky to finish with 11 men on the field. Haha...just read the daily record at half time; earl and countess of Dumbarton.. what a slap in the tits that is.

I was thinking about a sub myself, Forrest having an off day... but more along the lines of Paddy coming on. He won’t be back ... I just wish he had not been injured so much this season. Always liked him.

Aye shame he was out injured so much. Armstrong's another one who's had a very low key season.

I'd like to see Celtic get an upgrade on Boyata.

Rumors were Armstrong had his head turned about a move down south. Had a dip in form as a result. I want to see both Boyata and Lustig gone.

And there it is 2x3= 6

Interesting wee article on BBC Sport re: Celtic, and possibility that Rodgers will stay for ten in a row. Speculatory obviously but worth a read. That said this observation by Kirs Commons gives pause, with respect to the finances required to compete in Europe.

"It's very, very cut-throat at that end of football. I think he could spend £100m on the squad and still be way short.

"You look at Paris St-Germain, I think they spent over the course of the last three years nearly £1bn on transfer fees. They're still not making [European] finals."
