Tom Brady hasn't spoken on multiple Wednesday's this season likely because he was getting treatment. A good guess is team had to make that formal announcement because of amount of coverage (live on NFL Network, etc.).

FUCCCCKKKKK

(But probably nothing major, he’s missed or delayed many Wednesday pressers this year)

Letting the Jags and everyone else think it's a running game plan, then Brady comes up throwing 50+ passes. /fingerscrossed

OH NOEEESSSS!!! IMPOSSIBLE!

He just doesn't want to do the press conference today, so it's back on the injury report with a stiff shoulder or achilles. You know, I'm thinking he may just recover in time to play on Sunday.

Jonathan Jones is a sneaky "bad" loss. I don't know that we'll lose because of his absence, but he provides excellent depth and played respectable minutes on D and on S/Ts. It's also a bummer that his development for 2018 will be slowed bc he was looking to be a dark horse candidate to make us breathe easier when Butler leaves.

I find myself somewhere between "Oh well" and "Damn." Get well soon, JJ.

Jerry Thornton said last week Brady was playing with a broken throwing hand...

The hand has been the subject of sporadic speculation by some of the on the ground reporters like Phil Perry.

Who knows if this is a new injury, but I sure cannot wait for another 94 hours of speculation!

I miss the days when Bill listed like half the team on the injury report just to screw with the league. Brady has shaken his hand a few times in games of late, but also showed few effects last week. Think he will be fine

Good scoop by Guregian, and 'phew'.
Unless there are ligament issues or swelling. Would hope swelling would be gone by Sunday, but he’s old as fuck to be fair.

I’m unclear on what a “jammed” hand is. Hand on helmet?

We're Patriots fans, of course this is seen as the end of the world.

20/28, 278, 2/0 on Sunday.

I feel like at this point Belichick has successfully lulled and lassoed in the media to do his trolling for him.

This Brady injury — hopefully a non-event — is why I didn’t like the Jimmy trade. The return had nothing to do with my reaction. The lack of insurance was and remains my sole objection.

If Brady can't play, I don't think the difference between Hoyer and Jimmy would be enough to make a difference. I think Hoyer can beat the Jags. Unless you're insinuating about future seasons, which has been covered multiple times here for why that wasn't going to work.

Pretty confident statement on the heels of Big Ben, Antonio, LeVeon and all their other weapons not beating the Jags, in Pittsburgh. Granted that a better coached Steelers team, including two of their superstars keeping their fucking mouths shut, may have prevailed.

I was talking about this season and I do not think Hoyer could lead them to a win against any of the remaining playoff teams. My view is that Hoyer is not very good. Jimmy, conversely, would be a drop off from Brady but would give them a chance to win each of the remaining games in my opinion.

I hated the trade mostly because of the loss of reliable insurance at the most outcome determinative position in professional sports. It’s true that most teams don’t have an A level backup QB but the Pats had that luxury, and the insurance it provided, and traded it in order to get a better return and keep Jimmy away from an AFC right rival. That plan works as long as Brady stays healthy. If he goes down this season, the chance to win a SB — which doesn’t come around often — probably goes with Tom’s injury.

I love Jimmy as much as the next guy, but I seriously wonder why anyone who watched the last two Pats SB wins thinks that Jimmy was capable of either of those comebacks. Same could be said for coming back against Baltimore in the 49 year Divisional game (down 14 twice!).

Yes, the dropoff from Tom to Jimmy is less than the dropoff from Jimmy to Hoyer. But the dropoff from Tom to Jimmy is substantial in that context.

I hadn't seen this before and I love it. I've long suspected "Ian O'Connor" was actually just a content producing application developed by someone at espn, but if it's been around this long, perhaps there really is an Ian O'Connor...and he's the least insightful writer ever.

Given everything that this organization has accomplished, we're strictly in gravy mode here— there's no way I'd feel very bad about losing either of next two games in almost any imaginable fashion....

.... Except:

1. Brady injury costs us Jags game
2. Jags coast to Super Bowl victory as Foles/Keenum throws up on self
3. Pats fans spend next few years complaining about how 'trading Jimmy G cost us a Superbowl', as a roided-up cousin of the 'Rex Grossman was waiting in the Super Bowl' lament about 2006

Only that scenario could establish a depressing narrative out of what's otherwise been an enjoyable season of playing with house money.

This is where I am at. Felger is right (though he seems to forget it every year around this time)...If your team reaches the Final Four, it was an awesome season. Obviously I want SB #6, but that shit is tough.

I did not say, nor do I think, that Jimmy could have engineered those comebacks. That doesn’t change the fact that Jimmy has a much better chance against the remaining teams than Hoyer.

Brady is the GOAT. Still, Jimmy could beat two playoff teams.

Tom is going to play on Sunday and would have played if Jimmy was here. The only scenario is if Brady comes in and is throwing 2015 Peyton balls and Belichick yanks him off the field, which I doubt.

ESPN ran a report this morning that nobody within Gillette is worried, so it sounds like a minor scare. I guess we’ll know more tomorrow, maybe today, but I think it’s going to be fine. Even if worse case Hoyer plays, Pats are probably still even money. There are far worse backups out there. Are there three better than he is?
