I got an email today from the Red Sox with a link to the Banana's site for the presale. They suggest you make an account now to smooth the purchase process on Wednesday at 10am.

Fairly quick and painless purchase process. Gave a few different options for tickets (shown below). No fees added in which is a nice change of pace.

Bananas-related:

For those in NE, Savannah Bananas' owner, Jesse Cole, will be giving a lecture that is free and open to the public on Tuesday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m., at the University of Hartford's Chase Arena (CT).

Info & Registration

From the link: "Cole's lecture, "Stop Standing Still, Start Standing Out", will inspire you to do just that! Speaking on his life experience and what he has learned throughout his career, Cole will leave you with plenty of inspiring words and ways to find success in everything you do."

Congrats to all who got tickets today! Their website is crash-tacular when tix go on sale so that it did not for this sale is good news.

I am in the upper bowl, I am curious how the "act" will scale to being so far away from the action. Up to this game, I have only been to games in Savannah.

So what was the bullshit drawing they had people sign up for that they never followed through on?

That may have been the waiting list. I believe they had a period of time to sign up for it, then drew names at random - they did cut off signups for it once it appeared there were very many more names than they could reasonably accommodate (I guess). I was not picked for one of the choices I wanted. Despite how "big" they are getting, I think there is a little bit of "building the plane as they are learning to fly" going on. There is only 1 game in Fenway (not a series) so that really cuts down on the available tickets.

Surprised that no one mentioned Roger Clemens made a guest appearance as a pitcher for the Savannah Bananas in Houston on Sunday against the Party Animals. Alas, when called in relief in the second inning with two outs and two runners on base, he gave up a two-run single to the first batter he faced and then a home run before getting a batter to ground out to him to end the inning.

That guy who hit the HR hit it about 400 feet. It hit off of the facing near the train tracks.

Got an email a few minutes ago from the Bananas about the game at Fenway. For anyone that purchased tickets you may remember that you chose a general section of where you'd be able to choose your seat (mine were lower bowl, section 131-155). They are now walking back the "general admission" part of that and will be assigning seats in the section where you bought tickets. Honestly this makes life a lot easier because I think the GA idea in a certain section was going to be a shit show.

100% agree - the mad crush for seats would be a disaster. This makes for a more leisurely entrance to the game.

I worked their game in DC over the weekend. They hire local people to staff the merch booths and scan tickets.

It was interesting to see the operation from the "inside". We had a great time. There are hundreds of people on their staff. I guess it makes sense, since you cannot pull off a game away from home for 42,000 people by winging it. It is quite an operation to see close-up.

Tonight the Bananas announce their cities for 2025.

Interesting change to the ticketing model for 2025. K-Club members get to buy tickets to as many games as they want (it was limited to 6 games last year), but they cannot transfer those tickets to non K-Club members. In years past I would get tickets for my older children who are in FL to go to a game, now that is not possible unless I fly down to go with them. That may tamp down the actual number of games people buy for. Or, maybe people will buy for games they do not want in order to trade for more tickets to games they do want so they can take a large group.

Also new, is that home games are only available to 2023 and 2024 K-Club members. 2025 members will not have access to games in Savannah games, though they can get tickets transferred to them.

Most likely for me, I will go from buying 6 games to 1 game (depending on where they are going). We like going to Savannah, and the MLB parks are not a big deal to us, so one game down there will be about it. So I guess they plan worked to a small extent.

Id love to see a game but the general admission racing to the seats thing is a turn off. Lol I won't even fly southwest. I want to choose my seat way in advance

The football stadiums and MLB stadiums have reserved seating. No need to scramble there.

It is a little convoluted, however. You buy your tickets in a "predetermined area" of the stadium - say sections 100-110 - and closer to the game, they assign you a seat in one of those sections. They pledge to keep everyone in your group of 6 (6 tickets max per person) together, but if your family of 6 and your friend's family of 6 want to sit together, that is not quite as easy.
