I have an iPhone 6 and I'm thinking of getting a Samsung Gear S2. I know there is work being done to get them to work together, but I called Apple, Saumsung and Verizon and none of them have any 'official' update. Anyone have any better update than 'soon' which is what I've seen online?

Also, as a workaround, it looks like Verizon has something called Verizon Messaging where you can use 1 number and have messages synched on multiple devices, and allegedly phone calls as well. Has anyone done anything like this? If I just had my phone calls and texts going to both my phone and watch, then I'd be all set.

You have to get the 3G version of the Gear S2 in order to get phone calls going to your phone and watch. IPhone compatibility, as you said, is "coming soon" but not available with the Gear S2.

If you had, say, a Galaxy S7 and a Gear S2, you could use Verizon Messages to also get your SMS text messages on an iPad, Mac, and/or PC.

I personally use a Pebble Time Round (which works with iPhone as well as Android) - does everything you're looking for, except for taking phone calls (you see them ring on the watch, and can answer, dismiss, or text reply...but you actually have to take the phone call on the phone). On the Pebble, I can reply to texts by voice or by canned messages.

Think I jumped the gun on this one. I was told in store that I could have the watch in standalone mode, use the phone number on my iPhone and have it forwarded/synched with the watch. They said I just had to download Verizon Messages which I believe is true with a small caveat. I thought what they meant what I download it on my iPhone, which I did, and I could enroll the watch number to get it synched. What they neglected to tell me was that as far as I can tell, I'd need to do this on a droid phone which I believe would roll this out to the watch.

I just got an iPhone plus and my plan was to get notifications of calls and texts on the watch and then pick up the phone if need be. Then when the watch and phone was compatible I'd get the rest of the features and I was fine waiting for that. But I cant seem to do this whatsoever. I was looking at doing this with AT&T and I believe I could have set this up like this or they could have even done it for me. I think I'll be returning the watch this weekend.

Oh and I do have the 3G version, so the watch does indeed have its own phone number at the moment and I can make calls and write texts on it. So that portion, which helps me in no way, is working fine.
