This series doesn't start until the Giants win a game not started by MadBum. We have all seen Peavy in the WS before.

Don't be dissing the nearly blind duck boat man. NL Peavy has much better command of his new arm slot. He can throw to both sides without grooving a fastball much better than AL Peavy could (and the Royals are an NL team).

Everything you need to know about where Tim Lincecum is on the depth chart is that Machi and Lopez are warming for the Giants.

You're aware he went 4 IP, 2 ER v the Cards in the NLCS, yes?

According to my logic, the Cards are an AL team.

Besides, I'm quite happy with short starts in the playoffs. Eating innings isn't worth so much now.

I would take McCarver back. Can't believe I'm saying it, but there it is. Mostly because Harold is so awful. But also because, as insufferable as McCarver started to get, he and Buck has some chemistry. They genuinely seemed to like each other and had almost a father son thing going on, which is a vibe I associate with baseball. Don 't get me wrong, I'd rather have Eck. But this booth stinks. Maybe I'm just forgetting how bad he was.

I am still baffled by how the same Javier Lopez who was such an unreliable LOOGY for the Red Sox has morphed into a LOOGY that works for the Giants.

NL and all that.  But he has been very good for them for the past four seasons.

I think it's Righetti.  He turned both Ramon Ramirez and Javier Lopez into new pitchers when they came over from the Sox.  Lopez has been faltering a bit this year, but he's been nails for them ever since he came over from Boston.

Oh no.  Its Hunter Strickland warming.  He is like cold fusion for opponents bats.
All I can think of is that the Giants see him as a long term project, wanting Strickland to get big game (that expression) experience. Either that or he thinks it's his kid.  No, I love Bochy.

Hold your breath, folks. Hunter Strickland is in. This could go a couple different ways. He has five strike outs this postseason.... and given up four homeruns.

Hunter Strickland, throws hard.  And straight.

I think Yost is just trying to get other guys ABs so they are ready to pinch hit.

I will continue to crap all over Strickland and his straight gas until this season is over or he gets Bryce Harper out.

This is a fair point.  I don't believe in the Peavy renaissance, but we'll see.  FWIW, he said during his press conference this afternoon that a number of Sox had texted him with advice about how to beat the Royals.

Quick stat worth noting: #Royals were 42-39 at home during regular season, 47-34 on the road.

Madison Bumgarner is currently doing an interview with the local Giants affiliate and has a huge wad of dip in his mouth. He stopped to spit about nine times, including mid-sentence.
