Raul Ibanez is surprisingly genuine and well spoken. It's too bad he had to wear a Yankee jersey.

The Giants got a couple there, but they really needed to get more. That was a prime chance to really try to put this game out of reach. The Royals will fight until the end. I won't be comfortable unless the Giants have a really huge lead. Like 15 runs. Especially since we have inconsistent MadBum tonight.

Sox fans are going to hate Shields if he signs here. HATE him.
I find your ideas intriguing and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Count me in on the "I hate James Shields" bandwagon. On a Pierzynski level. He comes up small consistently. Please Ben run away from him fast.

Correct me if I'm wrong get, but did he ask when was the last time we saw Panda bat left handed, only to be shown a clip of Panda batting lefty in the first inning? I was in the other room and didn't quite catch it.

Bumgarner's 67-mile curveball, the one he used to strike out Moustakas? That's new. Threw literally one pitch all season that was around that speed, in June. And now he's unveiled a new pitch for the World Series. Because that's what you do, I guess.

Didn't he throw a similar curve to Perez earlier in the game? But yeah, pretty strange to mess around with a new pitch in a game like this.

Start calling him the Big Cat (yeah, there was a Kitty Kaat) or something now too. Except for that horrendous throw in the Nats game, Bumgarner is fielding his position like a real (non-Jeter) gold glover.

Pablo Sandoval really is kinda like a poor man's David Ortiz, isn't he?

After a stellar post season so far, this is the first game where I have been disappointed - if not a bit bored.

That was one of the better versions of GBA I've heard -- only a little improvisation with the tune, and plenty of power.

He did. I meant new this game, not necessarily new in that at-bat. But, yes. Crazy.

Slightly OT, but that "stand up to cancer" thing from last year, where mastercard was donating, what, a few millon bucks? That's chump change for research. Figure 350 grand overhead and salary for a PhD researcher per year. Maybe 100k a year makes it to the researcher's salary.

I'm thinking he's more like Prince Fielder gone to pot. He's visibly quicker than the average player, though -- some athletic talents just can't be taught.

Retired petty officer Generald Wilson sang earlier in the playoffs. I remember thinking he looked like a guy it would be fun to go bowling with.

Far as I'm concerned if we have to have the song in every single game, just let Generald do them all. He can be the national GBA singer.

Madison is ready for his closeup in 2015. This guy has been pitching like Beckett 2007 and Lester 2013.
