Bolts are a small dog. +100 is what I'm seeing on Draft Kings. Leafs are -120.

I actually think the Leafs get over the hump this year.

The big national lottery-supported book is paying $1.85 for a TB win, $1.80 for the Leafs. I’d feel better about the Leafs if they’d get decent goaltending (they have one of the worst HDSv% per Natural Stat Trick).

Yeah, I'm not laying money down on it. Just a hunch.

Dom's model has Toronto as a heavy favorite (62%). I was a little surprised by that. Toronto has the edge in most of the underlyings but not a significant one. Toronto is better offensively, the teams are a wash defensively, but I would think the biggest edge in the series is Vasilevsky over Campbell. I haven't read the whole piece buit I'm guessing the gist in explaining that Leafs as such a heavy favorite is because of the otherworldly year Matthews and Marner had.

I will say, as I posted above, Toronto seems to be already over thinking. They are playing the inferior Kyle Clifford over Jason Spezza because they are worried about size and scrums. The series hasn't even started yet.

It will be hilarious if the Leafs lose again. The core is filled with legitimately awesome hockey players. They tried the all skill approach and lost. The tried the grit and veterans approach and lost. They even got a 2-year reprieve from the Atlantic gauntlet and lost. We know they can score goals. They have become an excellent defensive team. Campbell is a question mark but he's been largely adequate to good when healthy (.915 in 9 games since returning)

If they don't win this year, and it's obviously a distinct possibility given the opponent, I'm not really sure what they can do other than throw their hands up in the air and laugh.

LOL, Clifford, signed by Toronto for physicality, just got a game misconduct 7 minutes into the series. Well done.

As an aside, John Buccigross's dad was my Sunday School teacher back when I was a kid, when John was just starting out at ESPN. I certainly don't think he's the best out there, but I'm really happy for him to finally get this opportunity.

Yeah there's really nothing better than overtime playoff hockey.

Also I had no idea that Jeff Carter was still playing.

This game, right here tonight, between two teams that we hate, is the reason why we follow hockey, and especially playoff hockey.

Hell of a game. And yeah, glad it was a "good" goal and not some random bounce triple deflection off a ref
