Yeah not sure why the Hawks tried their hardest when the Celtics were already done. Kind of a dick move.
It makes them look even more hopeless, like when a big brother lets a little brother make a few shots.

I don't give a shit how good or bad Atlanta is. They are an NBA team that made the playoffs, so obviously, they've played well at points.

It is hard to consistently beat anybody in the playoffs by double digits, and the C's have basically done exactly what they've needed to so far.

Meanwhile, GS is down 0-2 to the Kings, the Cavs need to finish this one off to get to 1-1 and needing a win on the road, the Bucks and Suns may be in must win situations in their games tonight and tomorrow, and the Grizzlies too.

Be happy folks, this is about as easy it gets in April.

Didn't love the rebounding, and a few too many careless turnovers, but otherwise they were pretty solid. Atlanta isn't some horrendous team. They are basically average, and beating average teams relatively easily is a job well done in the NBA.
That's the difference between a legitimate contender and just a playoff team. The latter is great at maybe 1 thing, good in some aspects, and suck at others. The former is great at a few, good at the rest and suck at virtually none.

I guess I could squint and see Atlanta treating Game 3 like Game 7 of the NBA Finals and stealing it, but then Boston wins Game 4 and Game 5 by like 50 at home so meh.
Unless the Hawks figure out how to both dominate the paint and outshoot the Celtics from three, they probably won’t win a game. Young is just too poor a defender to have a solid team d3fensevagainst a versatile offensive juggernaut like the Celtics

Atlanta wins the three batter by three points, on 15 more shots, but Boston goes plus 20 in the paint. All those long misses and bad boxing out allowed the Hawks to grab 19 rebounds, to only 5 for Boston.

I was joking in the sense that I want the best player on the Celtics to murder my family, yes.

I was not joking in that every time I turn on a Celtics game (which granted, isn't often), I get the sense that Tatum doesn't have a killer instinct, as good as he is.
edit: seems like it was covered and more.

Oh I agree, I think the Celtics win G3 and then as Scal says it's 1-2-3 Cancun in G4. Just that if the Hawks were to win a game it would probably be on Friday.

Congrats. You only lost by 13 when we weren’t trying at the end. The Hawks local announcers were pretending like those late turnovers actually meant something going into Game 3.
The producer sagely recommended that approach instead of, "Don't bother tuning in next time, this baby's over".

They've done it making it look more or less pretty easy as well... I tuned in when they were down by 10 in the first quarter.. they Celtics were still at 63% chance to win even then.

This team presents a ton of mismatches to any other team.. and the Hawks don't have the shot blockers to stop them. Plus the C's also have a lot of good three point shooters which makes playing D against them a little bit of a nightmare when they're on.

I appreciate that, hopefully you just saw Tatum make a block and then end the game with that dunk. Dude is 12/21 tonight for 29 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. I haven't always been the biggest Tatum fan, and when he gets into his head that the refs are screwing him, he can whine a bit, but he has the killer instinct that superstars have. There is no doubt about that.
I hope to see that in action. Would love to see the C's and the B's hoist up some banners.

Exactly

although I believe currently both NBA and NHL have game 7 on 6/18

can we have both games same day? (It IS a Sunday)

If the Bs and Cs both won championships in the Garden on the same day (say, the Cs in the afternoon and the Bs at night), I'd retire as a sports fan. Nothing more left to see.

Wow, good call. The nerves going in would be entirely out of control for me.

Yeah, please God do NOT let this happen.

Folks love the drama and game 7's, I just want fucking rings and banners. I'm just fine if both teams sweep everyone they play in every game in laughers.

Dueling game 7's on the same day? FUCK THAT NOISE, I'm getting too old for this shit.

Good chance it could be against Denver in both too
That would be wild

LA and NY also have a chance on paper (and multiple options) , and Twin Cities I guess too but not in reality

I hope that when it comes time to face a stronger opponent they are well-prepared for the aggressive JT double teams.

Need a teammate to show for the ball, need him to diagnose the right pass and quickly, and need to take advantage of the man advantage that results. Whether it’s the man in the corner or Timelord on a rim run, etc.

And still giving the lazy turnovers at the top of the key. Just need to keep this stuff to a minimum because they are otherwise playing with confidence.
