Whalers retired his #19; he played the last two seasons of his 21-season career there. His contributions did not seem to warrant the number being retired, but he was well regarded.

That was my favorite B's line of all time. Stanfield, Bucyk, Mckenzie. It was almost as good as Espo line. Pie goes to the WHA in fall of 72 and then Freddy gets traded in 73. In a little over a year from the 72 cup they're both gone.

Nooooooo! Maybe my favorite Bruins right winger of all time, and now I can't even find an image of a "Pie's the greatest" bumper sticker to post as tribute. His elbows belong in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

We are all getting older. The Bruins and Red Wings were my teams growing up and McKenzie was one of my favorites. Sad but great memories as a kid just being in awe of this tough guy.
