Jefferson, who played for the Spurs from 2009 to 2012, was on ESPN's "Get Up" show Wednesday morning. The roundtable discussed Tim Duncan's head coaching debut, which landed in his lap due to Gregg Popovich's time off for personal business, Tuesday night. While the rest of the cast lauded the winning performance against the Charlotte Hornets, Jefferson went on a rant, saying Duncan was "carried" throughout his life.
"Tim Duncan has been carried by people his entire life," Jefferson said.
He argued the five-time NBA Champion "didn't do anything."
Joking or not, Jefferson's stunt riled up the Spurs fan base and caused Jay Williams to walk off the set.
"He's a waste of a player, waste of time, he's the reason the Spurs are struggling this year," he added as Williams walked away from the table.
Jefferson continued the trash talk online, when he shared the clip, saying "all facts."
Some fans took the comments as a "trolling" effort, others were ready to fight and put him in the same category with Kawhi Leonard and Marcus Morris.

I don't know all the details, but Jefferson is HATED by Spurs fans and was apparently a shitty teammate and an unhappy person during his tenure there.

This is an obvious bit of trolling that ESPN encourages with their garbage programming, but Duncan's mother died when he was 13 and he has talked about it having a really serious effect on him as a teenager. "Carried his whole life" is a poor choice of words, to say the least.

Why is this in College Sports and why is there no thoughts posted by the OP on the matter

New threads are great...new threads with no substance suck

No I just posted it for discussion.
Exactly
If I post every article I find interesting, but never actually comment on anything, have I added any substance to the sight, or am I just clogging it with things I find interesting

Specifically, I'd like to know your own personal thoughts on the matter and why you found it interesting to post the link in the first place
Maybe quote a specific part of the article and comment on that?

Something other than just posting a link and walking away

I've never heard anyone critical of Tim Duncan especially that harsh. Tim has always been a well liked person with a good demeanor. Hard to think he deserves criticism based on him getting a win as a fill in coach.
edit: Is there some background between them as teammates that I don't know about?

it was a conversation starter. It had replies. You aren't exactly contributing much to it but i'll try to be better.

What does he say, for those of us who can't do high volume and don't read lips well?
A fan asks Richard to tell his wife "hello." Richard says he'll text the dude's wife.

Pretty good response.

mainly because it is called the Celtics forum and I don't post or read in there. I thought general sports was the place it was supposed to go.
Good try my sport...Maybe try better next time. As for the matter at hand, I think this is a classic troll job and a desperate attempt to draw eyeballs to a show that struggles in the ratings..
Next fall, Booger will come on and say Brady is a system QB and Pats fans will go crazy. (Not the Pats fans in here)

I tried plenty this time! I edited the post and requested it moved. not terribly concerned.

"Get Up" is hard to get up for. You're right it must be struggling. I can't watch many of the morning programs anymore. I remember when cold pizza in the early years when skip and woody hot takes were new fresh. I can't get into that stuff anymore.
